When asked about a game plan to counter Cam Newton at QB, Rivera gave his wry smile and said, "Cam Newton gives us the best chance to win." He used to say the same thing when he was head coach in Carolina and Cam was his QB, even after it was apparent Cam's arm was shot and couldn't throw a football 20 yards. (none of this actually happened, I just made it up to see the responses)

And why not add Chris Berman from ESPN to do the halftime highlights in less than 3 minutes. Talk about a real sh!tshow- how does that guy even have a job?

Guess I missed those posts... lemme go back and look again. Just what I thought, no angry people.

Would you buy "stock" in the Panthers?
Anybodyhome replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
Performance has nothing to do with the monetary value of the team. Look, the Dallas Cowboys are ranked as the world's most valuable pro sports franchise at $5.7B. They won the Super Bowl in 1995 and since then have made 10 playoff appearances, losing all 10 either in the wild card or divisional round. In other words, they haven't done sh!t since 1995, yet look where they are. In 2018 Tepper paid $2.275B for the Panthers. If he retained 51%, he still controls $1.3B. In May 2021, Forbes estimated the value of the franchise at $2.55B with a 5-year increase in value of 63%. Even if inflation were to grip the nation, it has never slowed the growth of professional sports. Why? Because when it gets too expensive to go out, people turn on their TVs. So, yes. Based on the fact professional sports are essentially "economy proof" and there's a proven history of growth (63% over 5 years = 12.6% per year average). I'll take a 13% annual ROI without trying all day long. Of course, this would have to be a real stock offering, not the bullsh!t scam the Packers are succeeding at. -

You can have the best of both worlds by rescuing a pure bred. There are plenty of breed specific rescue organizations out there. This. There are books written about how various breeds of dogs looked before the show dog circuit encouraged in-breeding and cosmetic breeding and the AKC doesn't help matters by establishing appearance standards. The respiratory and breathing issues English Bulldogs and American Boxers, for example, endure is in some part due to breeding to achieve a certain aesthetic. Boxers used to have a snout; English bulldogs, as recently as 100 years ago, weren't so flat faced they could hardly breath. Any way, to each his own. All of my dogs over the past 30 years have been rescues. We've also fostered many along the way, including this most recent little girl on the left: She's now with her new school teacher Mom in Charlotte and she's been named Mocha. They guy on the right is Cooper, our 8-month old rescue. He's already 65lbs and we picked up a DNA test yesterday to figure out what he is.

And, that's what has been overlooked for the better part of 8 pages of this thread. The penalty was for taking his helmet off, not for what he said.

The snappy repartee, the sharp-wits, you're really on your game, huh? "Weirdo?" Really, that's still a thing? GFY.

You missed the fugging point, child. Time for graham crackers and milk, now, so please go see Mommy.

Good work. Well thought out response and opinion.

Real millennial naivete not understanding sarcasm.

Wow... Panther fans have now devolved into age-grouping racism amongst themselves. And you have a problem with boomers?
-
Fugging millennials on this board.... Little whippersnappers should get a switch taken to their hind-ends.

If you go back thru the game day thread, as soon as the penalty occurred, I posted something to the effect of would everyone still be good with the celly if the resulting penalty and a kickoff returned for a TD? Needless to say, my post received about 20 .

Nobody mentioned how he was nodding out.... how does that even happen at a hockey game? -

That was rough. Thankfully, the game was quick enough for me to barely stay awake at 12:30. But hey! Tomorrow's game is at 9:30! -

That was weak. Smith was weak and Raanta was terrible. -

That PP goal looked too easy. Good to get TDA involved offensively. He doesn't get frustrated and let the little crap bother him when he's scoring. 8 point road trip is what I want. -
Way too early look at ‘22 Offseason
Anybodyhome replied to Santee_Panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Just because it's painfully obvious to everyone (except the Panther organization, apparently) that O-line is the definite need for this team doesn't mean it'll be addressed. Anyone who thought this O-line was serviceable 4 months ago, or even 8 months ago before the draft, and didn't do anything about it; you really have any reason to believe it'll be addressed in the future? -

See those 4 lines up there ^^^? Tell me where there are any glaring weaknesses? None that I can see. Each one of those lines is contributing on a very high level. -
Which sports announcers (any sport) do you LIKE or HATE?
Anybodyhome replied to PanthersATL's topic in Huddle Lounge
Down to a person, just about everyone on the NHL Network is very good. No big egos and no idiots who think they're bigger or better than the other guy. Football guys are a problem. Everyone seems deathly afraid of calling a bad cell exactly what it is- a bad call. Aikman is boring; Romo is as overhyped as they get and Jim Nance is nothing but a huge Cowboy and Tom Brady nut-hugger. Hell, the 2 best guys doing football right now are both named Manning. And I do like Joe Buck. -
First Take - Cam is a Box Office Move

That's resale. The team already made their money off the tickets. Just because some scalper can sell his game day tickets for twice as much now as they were worth last week doesn't do anything for the team's revenues.
