  1. Where do I start? Look, I should have known it was going to be a bad night when we get to PNC (they're not charging for parking, by the way) and you can park wherever you like. That may sound like a good thing, but since when is tailgating a criminal offense at PNC? The side-by-side cops out in full force telling us we have to eat inside our vehicles, you cannot stand outside, in a parking space, next to your vehicle, with your wife, while eating a sandwich and drinking a beer. WTF. The pre-game Stall tribute was very well done and Jordo was treated right. Those 10 minutes were as good as the Canes looked all night. Maybe they should have all left their #11 Staal sweaters on all night. They were fugging terrible. Missing passes, overskating the puck, turnovers, you name it. As much as I think Jacob Slavin is a very underrated defenseman, although he was an all-star, he got torched last night. Oh, and I had to explain the Geekie penalty for "shooting the stick" to a few people, too. I'll focus on what few positives there were, rather than list the no-shows. The guys who worked hard all game, were grinding it to the end last night, and not always in the camera shot: Fast, Foegele, Martinook, Aho, Pacquette. They skated and worked hard all night long while it looked as though a few others took the night off. Mini-crowds suck. I don't care what it sounds like on TV, you could hear a pin drop the entire game. There is no electricity in the crowd, no fire. I sat thru the first 17 seasons of Carolina Panthers football and I've been in PNC for many Canes games and the crowd last night reminded me of the Carolina Panthers 2001 season when they went 1-15. My wife and I have both received our vaccinations and it had been 427 days since our last Canes game in person. I can say without hesitation that we will not return this season for another game- I'd rather stay home and watch. When it's safe to fill PNC, we'll return.
  2. 2 things.... 1. The Gardiner-Fleury line scares me.... not in a good way. 2. Reimer in net means the Canes will likely need a 4-5 goal night to win. Granted, I don't know what his Detroit GAA is, nor do I care. But everything I appreciate about RBA as the bench boss, I'm just as confused by his goalie decisions and his D lines.
  3. Hopefully, tomorrow night is a revenge game that I'll be able to enjoy. Decided to spring for tickets with the reduced crowds and it being a Monday night and Staal's 1000th game. Think we may see Ned tomorrow?
  4. Very disappointing loss with a golden opportunity to put some distance between themselves and TB, FL. Giving up 4+1 to the Wings? Really? And, for what it's worth, I really thought RBA was going to play Ned last night. Oh well, hindsight.
  5. How do you know about his penile characteristics?
  6. Plenty of chances, they just can't find the net. And 0-for on the PP.
  7. Taking Detroit for granted will cost you. C'mon guys, get this going. I'll be in PNC Monday for the captain's 1000 game.
  8. I'd be tempted to drop Dougie into the second line, move Bean up and drop Pesce to Jake's line just to give some assistance to Jake in his comeback game. I also believe Dougie makes some bad decisions based upon his line-mate in Slavin. Put him on a line where he has to make better decisions and help out a less-experienced player in Bean and maybe he shows us why he should get $8M a season?
  9. Tampa Bay has rung up 3 goals on Columbus in the first 6 minutes of the game. Ya think Tortorella has thrown a chair on the ice yet?
  10. I'm in Asheville at the Grove Park and can't find the telecast anywhere. Can't live stream either and I have a Direct TV account.
