I started another thread about his being waived. He's missed significant time the last 3 seasons with injuries- all of them are back-related. He's got a $4M contract for the next couple years, but do you think the Canes can afford to part ways with both him and free agent to-be Dougie Hamilton? And, although it's 2 games in Detroit, the Canes are going to play with 5 D's or are they going to bring up Joakim Ryan while searching for another D somewhere?

https://www.cbssports.com/nhl/players/playerpage/1897666/jake-gardiner Hurricanes' Jake Gardiner: Placed on waivers by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Gardiner (back) was waived by Carolina on Saturday, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports. Gardiner is expected to be sidelined for a while with his back issue, so the Hurricanes are hoping he'll pass through waivers unclaimed so they can assign him to their taxi squad in order to free up cap space while he's unable to play. The 30-year-old blueliner has tallied seven helpers while averaging 15:48 of ice time per contest in 17 appearances this season. ------------------------------------------ Time to face the music now. Gardiner has an injury history. Although as solid and reliable a player as he was early in his career in Toronto, the reality is he's missed a a bunch of games the last 3 straight seasons due to injury. Thing is, can this team afford to cut their losses with Jake and part ways with free agent to-be Dougie Hamilton?

While the injuries are far and away the most important consideration because the health and safety of the players is always paramount, these specific injuries bring to the forefront other factors that may come into play. Vinny: means RBA will continue to shuffle the lines, although Thursday night's lineup card seemed to work out pretty well. TT: the possibility of long term concussion symptoms and the fact he's under contract at $5.4M for the next few years. Gardiner: waived today- hoping he'll get through waivers and Carolina can taxi squad him. But he now has an injury history that goes back several seasons and this Canes have him in a $4M a year deal for the next few years also.

Patriot fans seem excited that Cams back

But does he have the arm strength to toss a 55 gal trash can? -
This. Boston won't even play defense. They'd much rather just beat you up. And this approach cost them in their playoff matchup with the Lightning last season. TB was much faster, quicker and simply ran away from Boston. Washington? Tom Wilson is the dirtiest player I've seen since Tai Domi. I have no idea how he's still in the league for some of the injuries he's caused.

Can anyone tell me how to watch the Cains?

Fox Sports GO? -
2 games. NHL doesn't say when it starts, but they're usually immediate.

I'm not gonna go out and buy an "11" jersey because of this season, but I must also admit he's playing waaaaay better than I expected. Maybe it's the youth movement in Raleigh reinvigorating him.

https://www.nhl.com/news/dante-fabbro-to-have-player-safety-hearing-for-actions-in-nashville-game/c-322339970 Dante Fabbro will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Wednesday. The Nashville Predators defenseman is facing discipline for elbowing Carolina Hurricanes forward Brock McGinn. The incident occurred 13:44 into the second period of Nashville's 3-2 overtime loss at PNC Arena on Tuesday. Fabbro received a minor penalty for elbowing at 13:47. McGinn finished the game. The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: elbowing. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon.

It's no secret Nashville should have won that game in OT about 3 times. Definitely not the best show on ice last night. The Canes showed up twice last night, and that was for both scores. Everything else was pretty unnerving. Hell, they couldn't even clear the zone a few times in the 3rd for what seemed like 2-3 minutes. Did I think Staal could break away like that? No. Did I think Staal was going to shoot? No. Did I think Staal could get a shot off with 2 sticks behind him? No. There was nothing about that play I thought could or would end the game. How he separated and got a clean shot off is beyond me.

What's up with Roman Josi?

Fabbro should get his suspension before Thursday's game

You didn't read what I posted. I didn't say anything about either being better than Wilson. I said Prescott has more upside than Wilson. And I said I don't see much difference between Wilson and Carr.

Opinion or fact? Obviously fact Opinion or fact? Let go of your pussy and just answer the question.

Where was an opinion among your statements? Remedial grammar should be some of your tuition costs. Fug off, little one.
-
In other words, you're just as much of a fugging idiot as they are. There are a lot of things that "used to be done all the time" that just aren't safe right now. That McDonalds where you wash dishes? They're only allowed to have so many people inside, right? You're not working as much now because of that, right? Get over it.

And, in typical ass-fashion, UNC celebrates with a super-spreader event on Franklin Street... again. Such a shame all that tuition spent on an education and they're still idiots.

Panthers @ Hurricanes Game Thread 3/7

Isn't Carolina something like 13-2-2 against Florida over the past 2-3 seasons? -

Gotta play strong in the 3rd. Should have scored on the PP and held a 2-goal lead going to the third. Svech or Trocheck will put this one away in the 3rd. -
$14.5M is the tag number for OL this year. Moton is coming off a 4-year, $4.15M contract. From $1M to $14M in a single season.

From a purely statistical perspective, Carr is between top 10-14 in all the meaningful QB stats last season. Granted, he doesn't have a DK Metcalf or Tyler Lockett to boost those numbers.
-
And neither the Cowboys nor the Raiders are in need of a QB. That being said, Dallas GM Jerry Jones is fugging brain-dead and picks head coaches the way Trump picked cabinet members. Thinking a 32-year old Russell Wilson has more upside than a 27-year old Prescott is just dumb. Let's not forget this is the same team that will leave Zeke standing on the sidelines for 3 plays when it's 1st and goal from the 3 yard line. The Raiders? There's very little difference between Carr and Wilson- both can scramble and run, Carr probably has a better arm and he's 6 years younger than Wilson. Carr took some sacks last season, and the O-line in Vegas needs some work, but one of the reasons Wilson wants out of Seattle is because he's become a human pinata.

As soon as you can convince me that parents and politicians are smarter and know more about the pandemic, the virus and its effects than science, I'll start to listen to them. Otherwise, if I had kids, I'll defer to the scientists. I don't give a fug what parents, school boards and politicians say. Wow, one kid, huh? Gee, I didn't have to attend most of my junior and senior year classes because I was a varsity basketball player. My grades were assured and attendance was optional. And I still graduated early. And that was almost 50 years ago.
