  1. Few bad penalties tonight. Don't care how good the PK is with Raanta in goal.
  2. This is jet lag hockey. Or, San Jose is just beating everyone to the loose pucks.
  3. I think she has stepped in and done very well with an established team around her.
  4. Something needs to get to the back of the net....
  5. That was asleep at the wheel weak. C'mon, Raanta, you gotta be better.
  6. Coghlan must be dinged still. A match up of current and former Canes backup goalies.
  7. Drury is probably already on a plane. Thanks for the update- had not heard.
  8. Carolina historically has not been good in this building. Let's change all that tonight. I'll go on record with Burns getting his first point(s) as a Cane tonight.
  9. Especially when it's a fairly easy review for offside and the goal is... erased. As in, never happened. Another subject- one of a little concern and I hope it's only because of new line-mates. CBJ gained the o-zone through the middle of the ice fairly regularly on the Canes. While there were plenty of trips the Canes stood them up at the blue line, there were other times when there was no one home. But if that's my only concern after the opening night nerves, then I'm not that worried. It'll get fixed in the film room.
  10. Okay, guys, I called it during the 2nd intermission.
  11. Simply a numbers game. The roster is stacked and there just isn't room on the roster. He's protected, and if Bear is dealt, he will be on the roster.
  12. Took 30 minutes to get going, but this isn't the same team that took the opening face-off. Canes will own the 3rd and will win 4-1.
  13. Chatfield's speed has negated many an icing call.
  14. He's only a small step from becoming one of the bigger thugs in the league.
  15. Little opening night jitters. Not to worry, CBJ can't keep up the pace of chasing the puck with 3 guys and a weak defense.
  16. So be it. Hockey has its bests and worsts, but on any given night...
  17. Including the fact that Drury is a natural center and which vet are you prepared to sit for a rookie? Signing Stepan and giving him the 4th line tells me RBA isn't quite ready to give Drury the reins. Look for Marty and Max to be in attendance at home games for the foreseeable future.
  18. Doubt they'll assign him to Chicago. May see him in a box at home games. He's just biding his time until he's back on the bench.
  19. I'm surprised a single game thread for a poorly run organization, crappy product and substandard performance actually garnered 107 pages of posts. My question is this: if you're willing to invest your valuable time and effort into a historically poor performer, why not find one of the worst performing stocks on the NYSE and put your hard-earned savings there?
  20. Staal has earned the respect that he will decide when he goes, and RBA and the front office will have that conversation with him when that time comes. He wears the "C", but he also leads by example and the reason his heavy line is so effective in the forecheck and slowing the oppositions best lines is his work ethic. And the rest of the roster will follow him into whatever fire he needs them to go into. Don't underestimate the intangibles.
