What Happens If We Strike Out on a Legit OC Hire?
Anybodyhome replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
Brian Flores gets fired in Miami, becomes available and Tepper still sticks with Rhule- that should tell you everything you need to know about the future of this team. The OC crap is just a distraction. -
All you need to do is go back and read the history of the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants building their new stadiums. Both of those storied and very well supported franchises basically kicked their loyal fans for decades and sometimes, generations, to the curb with the new PSLs they were offering. Sure, they gave some of those die-hard fans who've been attending games for years and years the first right of refusal for PSLs, but the prices were ridiculous. Both franchises alienated thousands of fans and, not unlike Charlotte, you can see a lot of the opposing team's fans showing up in Dallas and New York. All those old fans had season tickets, not a PSL. I had season tickets to the Raiders when they played in the LA Coliseum for 4 seasons. You basically got to buy the entire season worth of tickets (8 games) each year. I think I paid about $700 or 800 for 2 tickets in the lower bowl each year, and they were good seats. Can you imagine paying $350-400 for your seat for 8 games every year? That's like $45-50 a game. Then this PSL thing happens and you're being told your seat is going to run you one time fee of about $10k plus the price of each game ticket. That's where Dallas and NY fans got off the bandwagon.

https://www.canescountry.com/2022/1/10/22877689/tuesdays-canes-flyers-game-postponed The Carolina Hurricanes have had another game postponed, as Tuesday’s meeting with the Flyers in Philadelphia has been pushed back due to COVID issues for the Flyers. The Canes have played just four games in the past 22 days and will now have to wait until Thursday to hit the ice again, at home against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Here is the full release from the NHL: The National Hockey League announced today that, due to COVID-related issues affecting the Philadelphia Flyers, tomorrow night’s Carolina at Philadelphia game has been postponed. The new date for the game has yet to be determined.

Investments are, by definition, a profit or loss venture. As long as there is inventory, they are not a profitable venture. There is no reason for me to pay a premium to Mr. Smith for PSLs when I can buy the ones next to him from the organization. Absolutely correct. Exactly why I decided to let mine go several years back. After 17 years, I just felt the product was not worth the price, the time (travel & game time), expenses, etc. I got my initial buy-in back and a couple bucks extra because I'd sold some individual game tickets to the buyer over the previous couple years.

Per Ellis/Glazer Rhule not exactly “safe”

I watched an all-time low 4 games this year. You know what, I don't feel like I missed anything. -

I watched the LA v 49ers game. 2 decent teams in a game with meaning. Glazer just said Rhule has to hire a rock star OC to keep his job. LO fugging L. -

Defense stepped up as well. Calgary only has a handful of shots this period. 21-7 shots in the 2nd. -

I think this team is so much better with KK at center, although the Staal line has been a beast of late. Problem is, Stepan doesn't play the wing, so the Canes would have to wait for Martinook's return before they could give the kid a shot at center for any length of time. -
Bill Murray may have something to say about that..... every..... single...... day.......

Except that the only known red wolves left are in Eastern NC and there are more of them alive in captive protection than living in the wild. They are an endangered species and will likely be extinct within our lifetime. https://weilerwoodsforwildlife.com/red-wolf-facts/ They are the most endangered wolf in the world. As of December 2021, there are less than 20 left in the wild. They mate for life and have one litter of pups a year. Often one litter will help their parents care for the next, younger group of pups. Red wolves are great parents and will even care for another wolf’s babies, given the chance. Also, they are very shy and don’t want to be around you or your house. It is very rare you will ever encounter one. Red wolves weigh between 45 and 80 pounds. They are smaller than a gray wolf but larger than a coyote. All wolves, including red wolves, help keep coyotes out of the area where they live. They are the apex predator and will run out or kill coyotes entering their territories.

Grohl is a good guy and I think he's probably done more and been more meaningful to the music scene in general than Nirvana ever was, but somehow Cobain... never mind. All that said, Foo Fighters closed the show at the Rock Hall Induction this year. We were in the audience and it was not good. Maybe the moment brought on too much adrenaline or... but Grohl was just screaming at the top of his lungs and most of the attendees couldn't even figure out what song he was doing. It was a little better when McCartney came out and did "Get Back" with them, but it wasn't good at all. I need to watch it back on HBO and see if TV editing improved the sound quality.
