  1. Standing out of bounds near the bench of either team? How many times did we hear, "When are they going to throw deep?"
  2. Fwiw, Alabama has turned out 2 decent QBs drafted by NFL teams- Namath and Stabler. Tua may turn into something more than above average, but Saban should never be confused as QB guru. Between Frank "Follow the Process" Reich and a rookie QB who appears not to care one way or the other about losing.
  3. Fact: Frank Reich was the HC of a decent Colts team featured on Hard Knocks in season a couple years ago. The Colts found themselves in a playoff position needing to only beat the worst team in the NFL, Jacksonville, the last game of the season. The Colts lost the game and lost the playoff spot. Reich was subsequently fired. But, his play calling remains just as we saw the last 2 games.
  4. My point exactly. I just neglected to finish my thought: "There are also quite a few guys everyone else passed on, too."
  5. There are quite a few legit guys in the league Carolina passed on.
  6. Here's what's really strange- most of the vets on the team were saying one thing and a lot of the younger guys were claiming something completely different. This will certainly create some discord in the locker room going forward.
  7. I got rid of DirecTV as well and went to Hulu with the ESPN+ package. I'm not sure if I live far enough from Raleigh to be able to watch on ESPN+, to be honest. If it comes to pass that I'll need the Bally app @ $19.95, then I'll pay it during the hockey season.
  8. So why is Boone Jenner disputing the story? Isn't he a team captain?
  9. CBJ is going into damage control because the NHLPA has already launched an investigation. Given the atmosphere of improper coaching relationships at the junior level over the past few years, I'm not surprised this is happening. On the other hand, I'm not sure an investigation is warranted based off a fugging podcast and its rumors.
  10. Local weatherman: "Welcome to today's forecast and a look at Hurricane Lee, sponsored by Kroger Foods. Looks like we may have some of the outer bands of Lee effecting parts of the state. Get out now and stock up on water and other essentials for a couple days. And, remember, Kroger has everything you need..."
  11. They are not considered grocery stores and do not qualify as a grocery business when it comes to classifying urban food deserts. Why is this important? Because workforce housing projects with government tax incentives for the developers are required to be within 1 mile of a legitimate grocery store, as many of the residents may be disabled, economically challenged without transportation, etc.
  12. When you're a successful organization with a history of winning, filling your house with your fans, and a roster of savvy vets, you'll get those calls. There's a reason Magic Johnson could take 5 steps to the hoop, Tom Brady got roughing the passer calls every time he yelled for one, the Kansas City O-line holds and false starts, LeBron doesn't get tee'd up ever time he yells at refs for a call. Winning cures a lot.
  13. The Burns situation in and of itself probably isn't the issue. It's death by a thousand cuts. It's a historical trend. The organization can't seem to get through a single season when there isn't some personnel blunder that takes on epic publicity and proportion because they have simply accumulated over the years and years. Regardless of the rationale that some of this is on the player and his agent, the casual fan base only knows the guy isn't on the field come Sunday afternoon. Kerry Collins, Rae Carruth, Sean Gilmore, George Seifert, Jason Peter, Tim Biakabatuka, DeShaun Foster, the obvious mishandling of Jake's extension, Steve Smith's unceremonious kick to the curb, Rivera stubbornly refusing to bench Cam with an injury, Jimmy Clausen, letting Peppers walk, Eric Shelton.... and the list goes on. Again, not all necessarily the team's fault, but to the casual fan who doesn't follow message boards, watch the talking heads on TV and just sits down Sunday afternoon to see the game- this is an organizational issue.
  14. I'm a football fan. I had to stop being emotionally invested, because that while being a Panther fan isn't good for your mental and physical well-being. Wife is still a Panther fan, but she's been able to dial it back a little as well. Now, as a fan of the game, I can watch all or part of a game and walk away, turn it off or whatever. I just enjoy seeing a good game. Sorry, I misinterpreted your post. We are going to the Green Bay game Xmas Eve. Now that my wife's parents are gone, we travel for the holidays. This year Charlotte for a couple days.
  15. You. It's all about your reaction. Along with Davidson and frankw. All you guys- "You can't be here because you're not a real Panther fan. You're not allowed to answer a post that asks a question because your response is not what we want to read."
  16. Checked out? As a Panther fan, that happened a few years ago. As a charter PSL-owner from 1995 until 2014, I'm now just a guy who wants to watch a good game, no matter who it is. I honestly cannot name half the roster. Matter of fact, we'll be in WV whitewater rafting Sunday when the Panthers start their season. I spent a lot of Sundays driving, tailgating and attending games that, for the most part, just left me frustrated with the entire organization. And after all those years attending games, there are but a handful of iconic games that are fond both memories and sad reminders and most of those are going back many years. The most recent being the last Super Bowl appearance. There has not been a franchise-defining moment for this team on the field in many, many years.
  17. I might have to find a way to brand my Jeep with that phrase....
  18. Not to mention the outside receiver appears to be closer to the LOS than the RT.
  19. I love it... How much you wanna bet this shows up on t-shirts in Detroit today sometime?
  20. Tirico and Collinsworth were throwing the rare bone to the Lions once in a while, but it was very obvious who's camp they were in. But the NFL network broadcasting teams have long since strayed from being objective and non-partisan and it really does detract from the game.
  21. No doubting his ability. But his off-season... sheesh, I was embarrassed for him. His ego really took center stage and he's really pretty much a jerk. I really liked the guy when he let his game do the talking. I hope Buffalo finds a way to get past them in the playoffs.
  22. Apparently you had Collinsworth muted as he slobbered all over the Chiefs for more than 3 hours last night. Just stop. If anyone is a "media darling," it's been the Chiefs for the past couple years.
  23. Fug the Chiefs. Now that the Pat's are irrelevant, I can start hoping for a KC loss every week.
  24. Mahomes has officially replaced Brady as the biggest crybaby to the refs, and will get plenty of calls this season.
