REPORT: Armstead is between Chicago, Miami, and Carolina.

Do we seriously want to embarrass ourselves when another free agent chooses to go elsewhere? The so called Panthers fans who really aren't when it comes to Cam are they same irrational bunch who were happy when Tepper cleaned house as expected. The way that was done and the result is what is making free agents very hesitant to come to the "new" Panthers. Well the "new" way of running the Panthers, the no loyalty, cut throat, the turn over the apple cart, rebuild, teardown crowd has begged for is a disaster and has cost us any good will and our reputation and proves how wise JR was. He understood the NFL, that it was a family a team not just a business. The Panthers if anything were always honorable. The NFL is a fraternity. NFL QBs is another fraternity in itself THEY ALL TALK, notice after every game the QBs talk. What Rhule and Tepper did was a big no no because guys are then like, "if they could do that to a star like Cam what will they do to me?". If Cam would play here again we'd be lucky, not only because HE has a passion for this team and franchise that is unrivaled, HE wants to win for the Panthers more than probably anybody living. He's from the height of Keep Pounding,he knows it, grew in it, IS it. Toughness.

He was balling before that.

Kenny Pickett > Malik Willis (at least for us)

We can do both. I just don't think this FO has the discipline to pick the correct QB in this draft. Their best hope is free agency though and here's Cam. Why not. He's actually done it before and is in his still early thirties and great shape, bringing the pain setting TD records. I don't get this Cam hate. Cam has never been Drew Brees. Not his fault coaches tried to put him in a box. You have to measure Cams ground game and threat there of or your not measuring him fairly. He can put up stellar stats, we've seen him do that. He can also still run over DBs and LBs into the end zone, he proved that. Still enough arm to overthrow Robby full speed. Good thing is he went to QB School in New England. He's more patient, mature in his reads. Yes.

Some of y'all need to let it go. We just missed on DW, we have a good defense NOW all we need is a good/great QB. Y'all are all in your emotions because Cam is the best free agent QB that will even talk to us. His numbers last season in limited time would have been way better if he was throwing to Zylstra, our stars were underperforming by dropping and they know it. Had that Cam, healthy Cam, NFL arm Cam, still dual threat Cam had a training camp with DJ, Robby maybe things would have been different. If he couldn't throw he wouldn't have played for the Patriots or the Panthers that argument is nonsense, stop it. Good thing he's already been in a Superbowl and already won NFCS and NFC Championships and is an experienced vet leader. Good thing he's not actually shot and can give these players what they want and deserve, a chance to win. Get out of your feelings.

Just be happy a pretty good potentially great FA may give this apparent embarrassment a chance. Others want the guy and more than half of us think he'd make us competitive if the right pieces are around him and also doing their job so he doesn't have to take the blame and maybe he'll get the credit he deserves for once.

Your other options don't believe in you and don't want to give you the time of day. The only one that wants to even give you a chance at that dance is the one who grew up with you. Some people would say it was meant to be.

Remember when we heard Fitts wanted to talk to Cam before free agency? How does him knowing Watson come in? Does Cam want to come back to the Panthers to win the weakened NFCS? Remember what Cam said about standards last year. Aside from QB it seems Fitts has put things together in free agency for that last piece. QB1 we won't be without for long and if you ask me I'd rather have a FA QB that has played in the Superbowl, won Championships. The odds of that person doing it again is greater than anybody's next great QB. Maybe he knew Cam may not be able to turn down an offer from the Panthers and his decision was not to step on big bro's toes.

Carson Strong is this years Mac Jones. Somebody is going to get the best QB nobody (the hype system, sports agent) was talking about drafting high but should have.

“Franchise QBs have no desire to sign with Carolina”
rippadonn replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's not "done" he's the same guy and could apparently get another job tomorrow because of what he showed us last season off his couch. He's done, he's done, he's done, again you are wrong the guy is early not late thirty and is in excellent shape and health as proven last year. Yeah, you hope he's done so you can finally be right but until he gives up or gives out you'll continue to be... -

If your shoulder is shot you are not playing in the NFL like Cam did for New England or Carolina last season. If so we could all come off our couch and play for one of thirty two NFL teams in the world and Seattle wouldn't be calling NOW. STOP FAKE NEWS! -
Guys are still signing with us. They must know something is positive in the works at QB. Me... Every time he stepped on the field last year he set a record in a Panther uniform AGAIN. That gif up there, he just took a couple guys manhood on the way into the end zone. Give this man a training camp, CMC and this defense, we crushing DeShaun on the way to the NFCS championship. We've seen him do it. There is no question in that.

Three top 10 QB's refused to play for Matt Rhule.

Respect that man. Any city is a lifestyle choice. This is his choice. Respect that. -

The "Dear Deshaun" thread puts your point into full perspective. You are bang on! -
Fiz (I think) brought that up yesterday. This behavior, all of it was un-Panther in the traditional sense. Richardson wouldn't have touched Watson with a ten foot pole. JR may have liked jeans days and the ladies but you've got to respect how he put the pride of his organization first, in hindsight.

That's disgusting and he may have picked the right team.....for him.
