Bryce got benched, but the problem is still the problem
amcoolio replied to CRA's topic in Carolina Panthers
Um, I mean if you watch the All 22, we have receivers open every play, some wide open as heck, the O-line is blocking well, and Evero is in complete control of the defense. I think Bryce has been just that bad. Like a Malik Willis who can't even run or scramble. I'm giving Canales more than just 2 games of whatever the heck that was from Bryce, who has clearly lost all mental fortitude -

I think Dave and Dan are going to get a lot of time to get this fixed. Tepper is one of those people that is going to learn through trial and error. He's largely stayed out of it this offseason and season. Unfortunately these are the growing pains. I don't believe he is the MJ type of meddler that ruined the Hornets for 16 years. -
Sell me on Beck, Ewers, Sanders, Ward, etc.

The reason its so hard to evaluate QB's because "mental fortitude and toughness" is such a huge part of what makes a QB successful and you can't measure that based on college tape and interviews. For Bryce, he completely lost it over the course of the last year. Yes, he's small and doesn't have the biggest arm. But even with that he could be a competent NFL QB. He's completely broken mentally, so he is the worst QB in the NFL. Situation has a lot to do with that as well. It's why I don't buy that CJ Stroud would be this good as we are seeing tonight if he was drafted here instead. This isn't the NBA where a superstar can go somewhere else and be just as good. NFL has a ton of moving parts. -

Because its true. EVERY QB in the draft is a total coinflip. There has never been a sure thing. That includes lucky flips like Stroud, Cam Newton, and Josh Allen, and unlucky flips like Jameis Winston, Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, and Sam Darnold There's not a single team in the NFL that can accurately draft QB's. Even the 49ers wiffed horribly on Trey Lance recently -
Dave Canales announces next week's starting QB
amcoolio replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
I believe this is a smokescreen. This isn't he first time a coach has said "Player X is our QB" and then he is promptly benched. My guess is he wants the Raiders to prep for Bryce and then switch to Dalton. Or give Bryce one more game, and if its more of the same then go with Dalton week 4. I was at the game with good seats behind the Panthers bench. The players aren't going to take much more of this. Diontae Johnson already looks ready to kill and Thielen and Moton were visibly angry as well. -
Drafting a QB is a total coin flip. There's no science to it. Panthers had bad luck and will flip the coin again. They could have taken Fields and lost that coin flip. Caleb Williams could still be bad. Everyone thought Darnold and Gabbert were prototypical QB's that were sure things.

So is anyone going Sunday?!? Like in flesh?
amcoolio replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm going. Got tickets on the 50 yard line a while ago and its fun to live bet/keep up with fantasy during the game, even i the Panthers suck. -
You want to earn a easy $1k this weekend?
amcoolio replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
LOL ROTFLMAO This garbage team beat the playoff Texans last year, like I said anything is possible and people should really learn from overreacting from week 1 by now -
You guys are crazy if you think Tepper would prefer to lose with Bryce than play Dalton. Winning is everything. Tepper wouldn't give two shits about Bryce if Dalton came in and started winning. Tepper is as tired of the losing as we are. He'll do anything it takes to start winning games

Derrick Brown potential season ending knee injury
amcoolio replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
A good QB is a galvinizer and cures a lot of ills. I thought the team would overpay for Dak and use the top pick on defense, but that's out the window now so they'll most likely select a QB unless Bryce has a major, major turnaround -
I hope they pull Bryce early for Dalton if Bryce continues the same stuff in the 1st quarter. Canales and this organization need to win, not develop for the future. History shows that where you are picking in the 1st round does not matter. Caleb Williams is very meh and Maye was so horrid that the Patriots refused to put him out there

Week 1 is always wonky. It wouldn't surprise me at all for the Panthers to come out and win 24-17 or something like that. Yes we are very bad, but so is half the NFL including the Chargers -
It's unbelievable that we have had 6 head coaches in 5 years and none show any sort of urgency or passion. Still taking the full play clock, still look disorganized, nonchalant on offense
-
Bryce's confidence is shot. Time to look at QB's in next year's draft
-
Dan Morgan would have to be braindead not to put a claim in for KJ Henry
-
AD Mitchell was right there, and he also played with Brooks and Sanders in college so added transition to NFL support. Mitchell fell in the draft due to "personality issues" but has looked very good in preseason for the Colts and just has the pop you want in a WR out there in his preseason highlights. I wasn't a fan pf Legette before the draft, but was pulling for the kid after the draft because of his likability, but he looks pretty bad and very clearly not a WR1, which is not what you want from a first round pick.

The division is up for grabs. Cousins is not a winning QB anymore, he's also 36 coming off a major injury. Penix might be something though.
-
Bryce Young just magically flipping a switch and being good all of a sudden would be a welcome change to this franchise, hope it continues

WR1's in the top 10 have had more impact lately than the pass rushers in the top 10. I also said rare circumstances like Nick Bosa. Would you take Ja'marr Chase or Aidan Hutchinson? Travon Walker or Drake London/Garrett Wilson? Both easy choices for me. Game has became a offensive talent league
-
I'm tired of weak arm quarterbacks. Allar or Beck for me. Recently the top of the draft has proven that except in very rare circumstances like Nick Bosa or Sauce Gardner, the pick needs to be a QB or a someone who can be an elite WR1. None of the other positions matter or hold as near as much weight compared to QB or WR1

I think Atlanta, NO, and TB are all pretty bad. Which makes it all the more frustrating Tepper couldn't get a good team together by now despite rebuilding for 4 years

Legend of the Game: Armanti Edwards
amcoolio replied to Carolina Panthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
He was probably overwhelmed because he was playing a position he never played before in the highest level right off the bat He was given no leeway to learn the position either Still maintain we should have just played him at QB once Clausen started sucking. He at least would have made plays and been a little exciting which is something Clausen couldn't do -
Would the Carolina Panthers move on from QB Bryce Young?
amcoolio replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
If Bryce plays really freaking well and they are 4-13, I still think they move on from Bryce. Tepper is not patient -

They will move on from Young if he doesn't win at least 8 games. I'm sure some team will take a flyer on him via trade. They'll chalk it up to bad team bad owner and having two coaching staffs in two years
