  1. Hopefully they are smarter than overpaying for one of those vets in FA. The team already has two young guys that they need to kick the tires on. They might be serviceable or better. They might be worse too. Either way, they need playing time to see what they are. Hopefully the team drafts the best available at 11 instead of trading the pick or more for a guy like Turner. Overpaying for a vet or in a trade for Turner would be a very Hornets move.
  2. Yeah. Davis was a selling point to whoever would bite on buying the franchise. There was 0 chance he was going anywhere else but New Orleans.
  3. I wonder if Jordan pissed off Stern at some point years ago. That's the only thing I can think of for why Charlotte hasn't had the first pick since getting a second team.
  4. Yeah. If Cho was still in charge, that would be a Hornets move with keeping Gordon on the team and giving up younger guys. Miles is a keeper. PJ is a maybe, but he could make a leap next year like Miles did this year.
  5. I wouldn't want one of the older guys. The timing doesn't really line up with the rest of the roster age wise, and there is also the mileage to consider.
  6. I like your thought process, but are there really any post guys anymore? The days of Shaq, Barkley, and even Big Al are over with. It's all about the 3 or getting fouled driving to the rim these days and that is sad.
  7. As I said, he's been far from great. The team has improved under him financially and in the community over the years, and slightly on the court the last couple seasons. I'm not saying put up a statue, but it's ok to give him a little credit.
  8. Most people might not have expected a winning season at this time last year, but once the season started you had people talking playoffs until reality set in. Expectations change all the time, especially for the more emotional folks. Teardown year, rebuild year, normal year, or whatever doesn't matter to the general public perception. All that matters to the nonhardcore Panther fans is that last season was more of the same.
  9. The owners of the Knicks, WFT, and Jets all beg to differ. Jordan has been far from great, but like rippadonn stated, he has gotten better over the years.
  10. I disagree. Old ownership or new, it hasn't mattered. Under the current owner and both coaches he has employed, the team has only posted losing seasons. The new GM gets a pass until they play the upcoming season.
  11. The systematic dumbing down of the American population in the pursuit of a new serf class that barely scrapes by living paycheck to paycheck so the wealthy and ruling class gets richer while said serf class accepts their lot in life as long as their "side" wins.
  12. From what I've seen it is more his contract than him that people have issue with. I don't blame the man for taking as much as Hurney was willing to give. I would have done the same.
  13. I'm a firm believer in giving kickers a pass on those kind of kicks. That distance is just too tricky.
  14. It does feel weird until you get used to it. Every bidet I've seen that has a fan built in heats the water too. Toto makes a good one. I paid $300 or a little more at the start of the shortage last year.
  15. Join civilized society and buy a bidet with a fan built in it to solve your problem you savage.
  16. So, once a decade making the superbowl or more wins including back to back winning seasons, which should been more playoff appearances? More chances in the playoffs means more chances of getting to the superbowl. I'll take option 2. Elway, Young, Roethlisberger, Moon, and McNair all played very similar to how Cam plays. And in case you want to say they more scrambling QBs than guys used as a RB. That guy that gave the Panthers fits for years that played in Atlanta named Vick would like a word with you.
  17. Just because I'm not saying Cam is the greatest ever doesn't mean I don't appreciate what he did. We're human, that includes Cam, all we can do is be good for the most part. Nobody is perfect.
  18. True, it's just football. Never said it was life or death or anything to get upset about. As for it being entertainment, the key word is entertain. Watching "your" team lose is not fun. Generally if people invest any emotion or time into something, they like for it to pay off. With football, that means wins. The last few years under Ron Panther games have been background noise while I do other things like reading, playing a game, working, or writing, than something I actively watch. I paid a little more attention last year since there was a new coaching staff. I'll probably do the same this year.
  19. I give them their due when they earn it. As for missing out, is losing fun? It's hard to be pumped up for a big play when the team loses the game.
