  1. I could partially agree with that. Then maybe it falls on Tepper for hiring an old man that looks like he has more fun giving out non full-size candy bars on halloween to see the disappointment in children's faces than he does calling offensive plays. Frank wasn't the right hire to re-energize this base. Bryce was the option by pure happenstance of available QBs in the class, but I just haven't seen anything yet from him that gives me hope. I don't mean to always fall back on old memories here, but watching Cam, he immediately came out and HAD IT, whatever that IT was and I just knew we finally had our guy and didnt care that we lost those games. I was hopeful and excited about what was to come, and I have nothing like that here.
  2. This staff came into this season all wrong. Instead of leading everyone on with making us think and believe we were "just a QB away" from contending, they should have leaned hard into a rebuild and all of this would be much easier to swallow. Not only that, we literally have nobody on this roster that is a "cornerstone player" like Luke, TD, Olsen, or Cam. This team is just so sad and unrecognizable compared to previous iterations. We've had 2 strong eras of different players that gave this team an identity, first being the Delhomme, Smitty, and Peppers time. Both of these eras led to a Super Bowl. I look at this mish mash of random players and theres just no fuging way we're going anywhere close to the promised land any time soon. There isn't a single player on this team that I am attached to like I have been during each one of those eras. Fit is a complete dumbass for not taking those picks for Burns last year, which would have set us up nicely to retain capital we needed to find those future cornerstone players and not come into the season with a wide receiver group that share lead soles in their cleats. That whiff alone is an offense that should have him sailing away into the sunset. What are we going to do now? Pay top 5 DE money for a middle of the pack player that shows up every other game? Trade him when everyone knows that we would only be trading him to get away from that contract so we will end up with half of what was offered last year? fuging disaster. Since game 1 of preseason we have looked like a complete dumpster fire with offensive ideas from Madden on easy mode. I cannot wrap my head around how we are so damn cursed with offense here. I know people are saying to give Frank time, blah, blah, blah, but c'mon guys, his poo does not pass the eye test. Our offense looks the exact same as it did in preseason when we "weren't showing our hand". My desire to watch Andy Dalton be our QB this weekend puts me as a fan at an all time low. Like, somehow worse than an imaginary game with Pickles as our QB and Rhule being the coach. No opinion yet on Bryce, he's a complete "whatever, man" in my world right now until he has something that resembles a competent coaching staff that properly builds around his strengths and for the love of god, get some real weapons. Other than that we should be offloading everyone else. Burn this ship to the ground and try again before we waste more years. Frank is not the guy, I've seen enough. Amass as much draft capital as possible, trade back every round, i don't give a fug, but own the fact that we've done nothing but make bad move after bad move for the last 4 years and commit to fixing it, not slapping bandaids on it to keep butts in the seats. I'm sure someone will chime in here "who do you suggest as a coach, genius" and to that I say - no fuging clue, I'm not that guy, but lord knows I have seen enough bad coaching staffs being a fan of this team to already know this one isn't taking us where we want to go.
  3. I just don't understand how we seem to always be the team stuck with prehistoric offensive philosophies. Frank has no business calling the plays, why even hire the other guy if he's not going to be the OC. Focus on being the coach, fix the mess that this is, and let the OC call the plays.
  4. fug it, he’s now our deep threat. only partially joking here.
  5. For sure, completely agree. But watching them against the Bills and I’m like “oh, well that kinda makes more sense now”
  6. We were severely overly critical of our offense during that preseason game. That defense is legit and that D line is an absolute terror.
  7. Called it as soon as he just sat down. 10000% popped his Achilles. He’s done for. I feel more sympathy for my bets I made that included him having a decent game than I do for the individual.
  8. To be fair, that was a sick move by Bijan.
  9. Which, that’s exactly what we should want him to be just like Proehl. But with this room, he’s having to try and be that 1/2 guy and he’s just not that anymore. @CRA
  10. I mean, nobody really does but I will say in the last decade when the panthers look like poo in preseason they generally look like poo when the season starts.
  11. The other person is Calvin Ridley… He was available for nothing, he looked phenomenal today. Why didn’t we snag him off his couch?
  12. I was really really hoping Thielen would be our Next Proehl and Hurt our next Olsen. Thought Mingo might be sneaky fast and TMJ just needed his chance. It’s too early to say all of that isn’t possible but today was disheartening
  13. Man, that’s a great question. Not a fan of Reich’s play calling. Even in preseason when he handed it off to the other guy things looked way more lively.
  14. I thought he looked pretty good, all things considered. He got absolutely zero help from the WR group. Nobody could get open. Everyone is slow. Bryce gets some actual WRs and he’s going to do great.
  15. Oh, I watched. But also foolishly took them at their word that they were being “vanilla” during preseason.
  16. That’s true. But it seems like all our receives have cement in their shoes. look around the league and every other team seems to have stacked WRs that constantly get separation.
  17. At the end, the wheels fell off everywhere. But the entire game it didn’t seem like anyone was able to beat their man. Every ball was being contested to some degree. It’s like we have a team full of #3 receivers. I don’t know how we’re going to do it but we need to find some speed or we’re toast.
  18. Does anyone have any idea why the hell there are never any white jerseys available?
  19. This will not end well. Only here for the responses.
  20. You and @Shocker must have gotten a lot of participation trophies growing up.
  21. You must be for thinking it went down that way. Cam put this team on his back and dragged it all the way to the finish line that year in spite of the coaches. Not only that, but they couldn't even put together an original game plan for the Super Bowl!! Cam made Ron Rivera relevant, not the other way around. He would have been fired 2 seasons into his stint here if it wasn't for Cam making poo happen out of nothing on his own. Ron is probably a great guy, but he has been and always will be a terrible coach.
  22. Sure, there is some validity to that. However, not once during Rhule's tenure did I feel any optimism whatsoever during the offseason. All these moves don't necessarily translate to wins when it matters, but that being said, the fact they are doing a complete overhaul like this shows they aren't ok with the mediocrity (at best) that has been put on display the last few years which has been one of my biggest pain points. They see the issues we all see and are doing everything they can to address them in one year. ... and that puts us 6 years ahead of Jay Z's timeline.
