  1. He almost has to be the 2nd best TE in the league to justify a late 3rd round pick? Lol
  2. Except it really wasn’t. It saves us a lot of cap space as Jensen is gone and we took a (likely( 12 year starter in the 6th round before WFT had the chance because they took a LS 3 picks later. It actually suggests we did our homework and knew he wouldn’t be available after the draft. And considering it’s the 6th round and saves us a million dollars in cap, it was 100% worth the pick.
  3. Dude Nixon could be an absolute steal. Suddenly DT is looking pretty stacked after signing Jones and getting Nixon
  4. Jabril Cox had a solid RAS as well which would have fit the theme of our draft. Really thought we would take him today.
  5. Nah that pick was actually really well thought out. Ironically I am really behind it. I’m the 6th round you get a guy that could contribute for the next decade or longer and save us a lot of cap space by moving on. That was quietly a masterful pick.
  6. Fair enough. That’s honestly still Zylstra
  7. Lol. Well if you watch the interview you’ll notice he does sort of stumble there for a minute haha
  8. That’s actually the greatest phone call I’ve ever heard.
  9. Just finished his presser. He has charisma and fire! He’s really is going to be that guy that rallies the troops. David Newton: You said if you were on a desert island you would want music to keep you calm. Do you consider yourself calm on the field? Tommy Tremble: Not at all. I can keep calm but in between the whistles I’m pretty aggressive. David Newton: Can you give us an example? Tommy Tremble: You’ll see when I knock someone on the ground on the field.
  10. Watching his presser right now. Seems like a really down to earth guy. Willing to play any position on the line but wants to play LT. I like it.
  11. It is absolutely worth it, but if we think this guy can play for more than a decade for us and Jansen maybe only has 1 year left, then saving a million and moving on now seems ideal. Especially if we know we can go ahead and lock up the future at the position in the process.
  12. Oh I completely agree, though I am quite confident he will be our best CB on the team, especially if the defense transitions the way I expect they will. He will need more time to develop but I imagine by mid season he will still be a better press corner than Jackson or Bouye at this point.
  13. We didn’t take Fields so some must now insist that every decision we make is stupid. Despite there being quite a few logical reasons for this choice. So it’s easier to just say that the literal best collegiate long snapper is “average” so we can continue pushing the idea our entire team is run by morons. In true Huddle fashion
  14. Surtain probably is more NFL ready but Horns ceiling is definitely higher than any other CB in the draft, especially at what Phil Snow what’s us to do. He’s a nasty, physical, in you face press man cover corner that is physically the most elite athlete at his position in the class. He is more raw than Surtain but will pass him within a couple years if he can live up to its potential. Physically there is just no other CB prospect like him.
  15. I called Horn... so I guess this was my most accurate mock in at least a decade lol
  16. Counter point. Many had him graded as a first round WR before his medical concerns surfaced. If our staff isn’t worried about it then he could be one of the steals of the draft. Hell, if he can just give us 4 years of WR1 caliber play then it was a great pick considering we got him late in the second along with two additional 3rds
  17. Think we just view him as an in the box safety that we don’t need. I wanted him too but it seems many teams felt he was tough to find a position for. He went significantly later than expected.
  18. The fact WFT took one a few picks later tells me we knew they were eyeing one and wanted to make sure we got the pick of the litter. Jansen is old and we will save a million to cut him. Half this board was crying about late picks being useless, then (rightfully) celebrating over picks like Nixon and Brown. Well, we probably just drafted a 12+ year starter at LS while saving a million. Of course the negative brigade will manufacture some reason to be unhappy with it. Yesterday the 6th round had no talent. Today we passed over 3 potential OG starters for a long snapper. SMH this board is nonsense.
  19. But he can’t admit that this regime is capable of doing a decent job. Saying “we got the best long snapper right before WFT took one and the move saves us a million in cap and replaces our 35 year old snapper” would indicate this staff isn’t incompetent. A narrative half this board has been pushing for a year or so now.
  20. I mean, he was the best long snapper in the country lol. You just aren’t going to get a lot of analysis on someone that just snaps the ball situationally
  21. Fug us in the draft, will you? Well we shall see about that!
  22. We knew Washington was in the market I guess. They just took one in the 6th after us lol. We got the best in the country. Hahaha what a wild draft.
  23. I love day 3 as well. Sadly I had to miss half of it today. It’s especially painful during a draft where we have so many day 3 selections lol
  24. One pride is actually pretty good lol. But yeah, I agree
