  1. I assume McAdoo is competent and can develop QBs. So if Corral is only getting so many reps it is for a reason. If you don't believe in McAdoo then nothing will make sense. And I am simply explaining what is happening not trying to defend anyone. From what I have read and seen our offense is improved and while that could change if we start really sucking, I am fine with how McAdoo is running the offense. But I want to win and prefer vets to rookies.
  2. If he is the backup as you advocate then any injury to the starter makes him the starter.
  3. My point exactly earlier in this thread. Corral starting would be a disaster and ensure we draft a 1st rounder at QB who would then likely take his spot. His best scenario is sit and learn.
  4. You should know that every team does what they think is best for them. And that every year is completely different with different players and staff. Feel free to ask the old guy or email Rhule to see the rationale. My point in this thread has been simply to point out what seems obvious to me that others seemed so confused about. You can argue you hate the plan but clearly there is one.
  5. He also isn't focused on getting Corral ready to start. Baker and Darnold are getting reps. What part of that is so hard to figure out. And McAdoo is making the decisions not Rhule.
  6. He did but he also said that whatever you get you need to maximize what you do. That doesn't mean he was criticizing him because he has no delusion that Corral could start right now. Simply said what he would say about anyone. You know, 1% better every day. Maximize your opportunities. Typical coach speak.
  7. Doesn't fit with the Ida that Corral is the best QB on the team and that some more reps will fix everything.
  8. I think you are right. Rhules butt is on fire so his whole purpose for good or bad is to win now as far as QBs go.
  9. Because Fitterer is bringing in lots of guys looking for the one. It isn't me doing it I am just telling you what is happening since you seem so confused.
  10. You can't practice properly until you know what to do first. For example you can't audible if you don't know what the defense is doing and what you should do in every situation. So you watch the starters do it and learn by example. Once you have mastered that and watched then you get to do it on your own. That is why his reps are mostly mental reps. Each week he should get more reps forst mental and then physical and when he runs the practice squad he will get more.
  11. Never said that. I did say he would if he tanked for draft picks. You like to.make stuff up when you can't debate on your own merits.
  12. It does if you think Corral is a project.
  13. I think there is hope that Corral will improve and that he will be the future. But honestly the only thing I could speculate is that he is struggling with the mental part of the game and all the practice reps don't help if you don't know what you are doing. I guess we can see what happens this week after he gets reps on Thursday and Friday and plays a lot this week.
  14. Last year was a dumpster fire. If things hadn't really changed around there would be little reason for optimism. Fortunately they have.
  15. PJ is going to be stashed on the PS and if Darnold and Baker were both hurt he would likely be promoted to the active squad and start over Corral unless Matt really improves.
  16. Maybe it was me but both Baker and Darnold looked good to me. Don't folks complain about not enough reps when there is a problem.
  17. I don't have trust in Rhule. I like McAdoo and Campen and Wilkes etc. I think they will do a good job if Rhule stays in his lane and is the rah rah process guy we might be fine.
  18. Just like when I was the first to point out Gettlemans flaws which proved his undoing. Or criticized Snow and his 3 man prevent in 2020. Or have had a lot to say about Rhules naivete and our college coordinators who admitted we didnt prepare because they hadnt done that before. But yeah it is always praise.
  19. No you missed the point. Preseason isn't as important and you think which is why players and coaches got rid of it. That and having one more regular season game means more money for both. Truly I am a spectator watching so of course I don't have any way ro know what they are thinking. I am just not triggered by what is happened as many of you guys seem to be.
  20. How many of those teams are keeping 3 qbs. They don't have the luxury of slowly developing them. Just because you are impatient doesn't mean it is the wrong approach.
  21. The fourth preseason game was a waste anyway and no starters ever played so it hasn't changed much. And these interteam practices have really helped give starters more quality reps. So again if time was of the essence we would have played both of them more than 1 series. Much ado about nothing.
  22. I think in the pros we call them projects.
  23. I agree I am generally optimistic especially this time of year. Plenty of time to be negative if we suck in November and December.
  24. Well we have several with HC experience. Maybe some of it rubbed off. I remember Rivera saying he wished he had hired some former head coaches as coordinators to help him make decisions. Maybe Rhule or Tepper helped him to that realization
