New sports streaming channel is coming: Disney+FOX+Warner
djp14 replied to PanthersATL's topic in Nerdvana
I don't see the NFL Network listed there anywhere, so probably no Red Zone. -
Welcome Charles Lee to Charlotte. He's the Hornets' new coach

We lucked up to get Lamelo, too. Weak draft class this year. I'm not gonna lose sleep over it. -

Eh. We got lucky last year. -
CBS Sports’ way too early 2025 mock has Carolina ….taking a QB

That would be historic. -
Texans new uniforms. Past time for Panthers
djp14 replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well, at least they got CJ Stroud. Can't have everything, I suppose. -
Eh. I can believe that Belichick was a pain in the ass to to deal with. But they were winning, so Kraft put up with it. Once the winning stopped, however ....

Damn, I remember that one. Didn't know they hadn't won one since then. (Stopped paying attention to State soon after Valvano left, and they stopped recruiting paisans)

Sounds like Luke gotta make a decision on his Panthers fandom - Leave tonight, or live and die this way.

He'd make a good backup for Kyler Murray.

Not Charlotte FC related, but this RSL/LAFC match is insane.

I wouldn't make the trade, but Howell was the obvious pick over Corral. If Howell had panned out here, we could've kept DJ Moore and this year's pick. Maybe even CMC.

Not me.

I think YTTV is pretty well positioned right now. It's basically cable tv for people who don't want to pay cable tv prices. I'd guess that the "sports progamming only" market isn't huge. The problem for YTTV is if any of this stuff becomes exclusive, or if ESPN/Fox decide to jack up whatever carriage prices they're currently paying.

As a UNCC alum, I see parallels between the Hornets and 49ers. In the 90's, both were good (not great) teams. They weren't title contenders, but you expected them to be in the playoffs/tournament. And they've both been sh#t shows for the last 20 years. It's been fun watching 49ers hoops come back to life. Maybe someday that will happen with the Hornets.

Any idea of what Young is doing in the offseason to improve?

Michigan State fans pull for the Lions, too.

Doubling down on Young. I don't like it. We NEED Young insurance.

The most obvious comparison for Bryce is Trey Lance, based on where he was drafted, and what SF paid to get him. He got 2 seasons (8 games). Of course, they had a loaded team and no time to wait. And a good front office. What are the odds we find a Brock Purdy? But if we've learned anything about Tepper, it's that he's not a "sunk costs" guy. -
I was good with the Frank Reich hire, so what do I know? We'll see.

The Hornets/Heat rivalry is similar to the way a nail has a rivalry with a hammer.

So it looks like Amazon stepped in at the last minute to prop up the Bally RSN's. So if you didn't have access to the Hornets/Canes, you can just do a $20/month add on at Amazon Prime. If I followed the Canes, maybe. But nah. https://deadline.com/2024/01/amazon-diamond-sports-regional-networks-sinclair-bankruptcy-1235795319/
