  1. My guess is that they thought they could build for the future and win now. And to be honest, had they been able to play a little better in the last 4 minutes of most games last year, they would have won more, maybe even competed for the last wildcard spot. Hopefully, the team is better this year and Darnold can perform better under pressure than TB did.
  2. Where is the drama? I see signs of mild disagreement.
  3. Actually, he decided to go back to Wake Forest to do their pro day. Makes sense since he never played a down for Georgia.
  4. Because BB didn't want him there. BB is a good coach, but in some ways, he gets a bit overrated. His record without Brady as qb is nothing to brag about.
  5. He definitely knew when to let Brady go. I mean TB is completely washed up.
  6. I don't know who is better, but I do know this. What the media/mock draft/nfl analyst thinks should be irrelevant when the staff makes the pick.
  7. For Cam's first three years, he actually had a decent offensive line. Not great but ok. And the wide receivers, well they had Smith and signed Ginn in 2013. The team had a lot of holes to fill when Cam got here. So they had to make a lot of choices, and while the defensive picks were good, the offensive picks not so much. We spent a second on Silatolu, a first on Kelvin Benjamin, a second on Funchess. We also signed Oher, who was good until his injury. And Ted Ginn of course, who gave the offense some firepower. IMO, both Hurney and Gettleman both tried to pick players that would help the offense, but they generally sucked at it (except for running backs). Gettleman seems to have continued his lack of offensive success at NY. I guess we could look back at the 2013 draft and say that Gettleman should have focused more on the line, but had he done so, the defense if we hadn't picked Star and Short, our defense would have been pretty bad, so I am not sure it would mattered in the long run.
  8. I do. Get as many picks as possible to increase the amount of young talent across the board and hope enough of them pan out to make us a contender. This is how teams become consistent winners. If enough of the picks pan out. Or change coaches every 3-4 years if they don't pan out.
  9. They tried to build around Cam, they just weren't very good at it. If you look at the draft picks and free agent signings while Cam was here, we used a lot of capital on offense. But to many of their choices flamed out.
  10. The best was Smith, Moose, and Proehl. But this one could be very good.
  11. The league average for success of second round picks is not that great, so we are above average overall, and for the last six years or so, way above average. Only Little was a bad pick in that time span.
  12. Fwiw, I can't think of many current players drafted in the top 8 that changed a team's fortunes singlehandedly, qb or otherwise. There are a few, but not many. Certainly none in the last couple of years.
  13. Fields going to where qb's go to fade away (Chicago). Maybe.
  14. Eagles and Cowboys made a trade? That is a surprise.
  15. Well, I hope he is good. We still have yet to pick an offensive player under Ruhle
  16. Well, either fields or sewell or both will be available when we pick. Interesting to see what happens.
  17. If the Dolphins get even decent qb play, they could be one of the better teams in the NFL for a while.
  18. Atlanta is going to have a ton of pass catchers. And they may need them unless their defense improves dramatically.
  19. And if they do, he might come in and be the next Joe Montana.
  20. Now we find out if the Forty Whiners were just blowing smoke regarding the Bama qb.
