  1. I found the 2003 stats. In 2003, 7 teams were averaging more than 25 a game, with one averaging more than 30. This year, 7 teams are averaging more than 25 points a game, none of them are up at 30. Looking at the top rushing teams, in 2003 the Ravens were the top rushing team, with 167 yards a game. This year the Bears are the top, with nearly 190 while the Eagles are second with 163. Admittedly, the styles are different, but running the ball and playing defense are still very good ways to win. That being said, of course we need better qb play to have a chance at the Super Bowl. Hopefully, we will get it in the offseason.
  2. I keep hearing that yet scoring appears to be on par with 2003. Running the ball and defense has made a comeback this year. A quick check of stats shows that teams were actually averaging slightly more ppg in 2004 than they are this year. 2004 is as far as the stats go back on the site I checked.
  3. I don't know, I mean Bonnafon got a decent amount of Carries, But overall, Ron is like a lot of old school coaches in the NFL today. He overuses his best running backs. Don't know yet if Wilkes does that.
  4. Seattle has a terrible run defense. Steelers are far better at playing the run. It will be a lot tougher to run next week. Fortunately, the Steelers offense isn't very good, especially if Trubisky is still the Qb.
  5. As a head coach, he is plus three in the point differential at Seattle. I think Rivera is about -100.
  6. That last series by the defense was bad. But we essentially shut down one of the best offenses in the league for the first 29 minutes of the second half. All in all, a good day for the defense and the run game.
  7. Terrible play by the d there. Forget about the pick or the hit. Just ensure you can tackle the guy inbounds
  8. Agree But I would almost prefer they kick it out of bounds than kick it to a Seattle returner.
  9. I seriously doubt anyone on the staff thinks Darnold is a franchise player/qb. They probably just think he is the best option at this point.
  10. Why the hate on Hubbard? He has had a great game today.
  11. The way our oline is blocking, I might be able to pick up 1 or 2 yards. Ok, maybe not, but I might only lose a couple. lol
  12. Well, we are in the red zone. Time for four consecutive poorly executed passing attempts.
  13. On third down. If we sacked em on 1st or 2nd down, I have no doubt they would pick it up.
  14. Don't take this the wrong way. I am not a Darnold fan in any way shape or form. I would love to see us draft someone who becomes a good NFL qb. But he has played fairly well today. He has thrown the ball well enough to win this game.
  15. We need a coordinator who will call a couple of runs on first and goal at the four.
  16. Not one single run in that last series when its first and goal at the four.
  17. The knee thing maybe, but that was a great play by Laviska.
  18. New guidelines for our receivers. Forget about catching with your hands. Use your knees and thighs.
  19. They are playing 8 and sometimes even 9 in the box. We have to pass it at least a little bit.
  20. To be completely honest, I am not sure that was a catch. Heck, I am not sure what it was. But its probably going to go in our favor.
  21. He probably should have run it. Sullivan wasn't catching that.
  22. Seattle is one of the top offenses in the league. Our offense is going to have to do something if we are going to win.
