  1. For like the hundredth time, if you can't draft well (on day one and two in particular), just because you moved several draft spots, then you don't need to be in an NFL front office. Period! The reason why the better part of the decade hasn't been a failure because we won "meaningless" games as you call them, it's because the people making the calls didn't draft the right people when they were on the clock, and they traded away too much draft capital. You can't show me one first round where there was no talent available worthy of a first round pick when we picked. I don't care if you're top five, 10 or 32.
  2. I think the Vikings will win
  3. Damn, my Bryce Jersey is looking good right now.
  4. A lot of projection going on there, but suffice it to say that if plays like he has post-benching, he just may be franchise worthy.
  5. Williams sucks. Why do you think they're trying to find his replacement? RBs are not equal, dude. UDFAs are undrafted for a reason. I have tried to explain it several times: The RB position is devalued in a contractural sense when it comes time to renew---basically from a business perspective, but from an on-the-field perspective they are as important as ever. You want the best talent that you can get, and exceptional ones get paid. Others who are perceived near the back side of their career don't, unless maybe they're perceived as a missing piece to a chip, and even then it's not to long term contracts. UDFAs and JAGs are let go religiously because they're just guys, someone to hold space and keep it moving. Teams don't generally let good backs go, unless they think they can get a better one, can't or don't want to pay what the market demands, or the back is injured.
  6. Because they're generally better talents to put it simply. Most UDFAs are JAG. We don't want to limit ourselves to JAG. And, btw, it's not a successful draft strategy to go in saying, "I'm going to draft all defense." Real world drafting doesn't go like that. You must look at individual players and value, irrespective of whether their on offense or defense, that's why you use FA to set up the draft, but you still can't throw value out the window.
  7. It's the American way. We all know it, but few are willing to make sacrifices to change the way things are done. This is a glorified feudalistic system where we are the serfs. The lords are private corporate CEOs. Our elected politicians are plutocrats serving the rich, and we elect them over and over again because the proletariat is utterly stupid.
  8. I have been watching football for more than 50 years (yeah I'm getting old). I can tell you, without a doubt, that not all RBs are equal (and you see that every Sunday from August through February). Like Joe Bear says, that doesn't mean that I'm drafting one (or not drafting one). Especially on day three, when you have "projects" galore, you might want to invest in one, because, as you intimated Cam Whoaa Cam, the position probably has the least learning curve, and you may be able to "luck" up on a back like Checo or Aaron Jones. In general, I don't think it's wise to dismiss a player or position out of hand.
  9. Wretched? That's a little hyperbolic.
  10. Had to see what you're talking about... just in time to see him throw a hospital ball.
  11. I've always thought that Penix was a baller. If Penix were a stock, I'd absolutely buy him over Young and Stroud.
  12. We were terrible, but that's to be expected when you look at the personnel.
  13. I mean, yeah, but they knew they were making sacrifices in regards to the defense. With the injury to Brown and to a lesser extent Shaq, we were cooked. Sure, the FO is accountable for trying to ensure (and insure) that the (im)perfect storm doesn't happen, but making lemonade out of lemons is really not realistic in the NFL. Matt Rhule and Scott Fitterer (under pressure from David Tepper) left the roster in shambles from too many angles. Dan Morgan and company concentrated on offense last off-season with a so-so result, but still to the detriment of the defense, including a wing and a prayer at EDGE. All that being said, I dislike the scheme, especially when you're trying to rebuild (and, yes, we were/are rebuilding regardless of what they say), but, then again, I guess that ripping the band-aid off is a rational approach during a transition. Still, I prefer a 4-3 base (admittedly, maybe because it's what I'm used to). I am highly skeptical of Evero's scheme because to me it makes it easier for the RB to gain a head of scheme, and if you don't have the speedy physical backers and safeties you're cooked. I'd much prefer that Evero goes, but if he stays he'll have a fairer shot to make a believer out of all us non-believers.
  14. Drake Maye looks like the real deal, so yeah.
  15. Dude, we need a receiver regardless. I don't think acquiring one, whether it be on day one or two of the draft or the first day of FA, will signal anything but that we have a sober-minded FO. If Tet McMillan is on the board, I expect us to give him a look regardless---be at his pro day, and I absolutely expect us to bring him in for a private workout. Anything less is managerial malfeasance. The same for Burden III, I might add.
  16. Piniero is the lazy man's answer on special teams. Plus, evolution didn't give him the clutch gene.
  17. It's just too early for me to even think about it. Emotionally, I want to win at least 9 games, but intellectually I have to see the personnel and get my mind right before I can say what I'll be good with record-wise.
  18. I think Canales is trying to find his way. Within that same vein, we were officially put out weeks ago, so I think he's experimenting a little bit. I really didn't see anything egregious in the playoffs last season. If he had had a real RB, they may have won the game.
  19. I'd say third or later, maybe, but with one of those fourths I'd skip to the podium.
  20. There is absolutely nothing wrong with drafting Milroe depending upon the round.
  21. I don't think that it's rushing biased as much as it takes rushing into account (as well it should in my opinion). If you move the ball via passing or rushing, you're still moving the ball. Plus, if you look at their actual passer ratings, it's harder to say that Burrow is a so much better passer. Now of course just sheer passing yards does stand for something in the passing equation, but you still can't discount a QB's ability to run.
