Me too.  I read an article about Flacco some time ago.  He was having trouble putting touch on his short passes.  I wonder if it was ALL Dixon.

lol I think you basically just thought he was a lot better than what he is, then when presented with facts about how bad he was last season you realized that you can't justifiably say he will contribute immensely to out weight the lost of other receivers or to form a dynamic duo of tight ends, his signing is based purely on potential and even then a guy who has chance after chance to show his potential and doesn't.....just isn't a very liable receiving threat.  His signing was miniscule and I don't expect him to contribute greatly to any of the issues already presented in this thread.  His catch percentage of balls thrown his way is lower than any receiver who was on our team last season, statistically he's not even an upgrade lol. 

 

 

And the whole "addressed" vs "fixed" thing, now you're just arguing semantics....and kinda contradicting points you've already made, you've already implied that he will assume a pass catching #2 tight end role, I never disagreed with that I simply said dude isn't that good and I don't think he will be like Shockey for us a few seasons back, shockey had a lot of versatility and intangibles...

As people have mentioned, O-line and WR contribute.

 

Also Cam holds the ball "too long" pretty often because many times when he holds on to the ball he makes borderline magical escapes for a first down that no QB has any right to make. But obviously he can't always make that escape and gets taken down.  IMO that's a good trade off.
