It's going to be really difficult for OKC to win without Ibaka because with Ibaka they didn't have to have everyone collapse on Parker when he entered the lane, but with no Ibaka you'll see Butler, Westbrook, and Sefalosha (when he's not on Parker) helping out, leaving the kick out wide open.

I think the only way OKC wins is if they start Adams and sit Perkins while sticking Sefalosha on Parker. Perkins is a liability right now because he's so slow, he can't get over to contest Parker's lay-ups.

Starters

Parker - Sefalosha

Green - Westbrook

Leonard - Durant

Duncan - Adams

Splitter - Collison

When SAS goes small...

Parker - Sefalosha

Green - Westbrook

Leonard - Butler

Diaw/Bellineli - Durant

Duncan - Adams

In my opinion, that's their only chance and you have to tell everyone except for Adams to stay home when Parker drives.

Ibaka doesn't make that big of a difference from the beatings that these games have been.

actually I think he might be the most important player in the playoffs for OKC. Durant and Westbrook can score but I think Ibaka sets the tone for the team defensively and is a spark plug. He also helps open the game up more for Durant and Westbrook.

Ibaka is super important to the Thunder because he protects the paint. Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli score most of their points in the paint and with a shot-blocker like Ibaka back there it forces the Spurs to become primarily an outside shooting team.

So if you factor in 7 blocks, 7 turnovers (14 empty possessions), Leonard, Green, and Bellineli going a combined 6-17, and Durant and Westbrook going off (both offensively and defensively) you get a big OKC win.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
