Kyle Orton gets booed by Denver Fans

It's the nature of the biz for sure but I hate it. I think it sucks to boo your guys. ESPECIALLY in TC. Lame to the max.

Meanwhile Cutler is insuring that he will receive a warm welcome in Denver.

And Orton is handling everything right.

Mistake to fire Shanny? I honestly don't think so. They could never have a real GM if Shanny was there. And they badly needed one. Shanny is HORRIBLE with personnel decisions and isn't very good with assistant coaches either. To me, he's always been a great OC and should have stayed an OC.

Mistake to trade Cutler for Orton? I don't think so at all in any way vis a vis what I know of what McDaniels likes in QBs. Mistake to hire McDaniels? Maybe, way too early to tell.

"Lame to the Max"? Really?

Orton says both cities are great. That's stupid. In my mind great cities don't boo their teams players no matter what's happening. Maybe he didn't intend for great to mean great sports towns. It is just TC, and he is learning new stuff. They should give him more of a chance.

Boooooooo! this post!!!! :)

I think fans have every right to voice their displeasure when the effort they see on the field is is poor.

Of coure I come from the boo capital of the world.......

(I think Philly fans are ridiculous when it comes to booing though)

exactly. I know other cities boo, but none come close to Philly.

I kinda feel bad for Kyle Orton. It wasn't his fault that he was sent to Denver to be the replacement for Jay Cutler, and now he's only going to be criticized if/when he doesn't perform up to the level that Denver fans are used to.

exactly. Who they should boo is both the new coach and Cutler.

    • Thielen was a "dawg" like Dan Morgan likes to say. And they replaced him with puppies.  The analytics are probably saying this is more targets for younger receivers they are hoping to develop, specifically the first round pick from 2025. The eye test is going to show a very inexperienced group of WRs that are going to have some serious growing pains, for a 3rd year QB who has not yet proven to be the guy going forward.  It's crazy how in the literal first game of his NFL career, Cam Newton showed everyone he was a star QB and there was never any doubt about that. It almost didn't even matter who was around him, although he definitely had a serious lack of talent at WR for most of his career. Bryce is going into his third season and there is still a ton of doubt, and who is around him is seen as crucial for him to have success. I don't like it.
    • Everyone says AT was old and slow but the one thing he could do consistently was get separation. That takes skill and it's been a huge issue in our WR for years. And while Moore may be a great locker room guy and our WR coach may be a 12 year vet, he's not playing in the game. Vets like AT do what they do because they can see things others don't and exploit it. The DB interview I mentioned before was with Stephon Gilmore after his DPOY season. He was pulling the younger DBs aside showing them things you wouldn't even think you'd be able to tell from the way the receiver was standing.  Seeing what a DB or LB is biting on in game that can give you that half step advantage is huge and we don't have that experience in our WR group right now and I think it could end up hurting us. None of our receivers have lined up against NFL corners successfully on a regular basis. Having someone that can walk over and give you a tip to get a half yard separation can be a difference maker.
