Bonnell now saying Hornets are players for Lance.

When Stephenson signs I'm gonna go back & print out all of his shitty, snide tweets & article remarks; from Higgins-Hayward-Stephenson sagas. Then I'm gonna send them to the Observer & Hornets & request a new beat writer.

Twitter can change people to a darker side. Rick is just another darin gannt. Someones who's a pick and believes they are vastly smarter than everyone. I liked darin before twatter, but that showed his true colors same as rick. Ive spoken to darin and he told me to my face "the more you know about player/s, the less you like them". Seems rick doesn't like the horent players, coaches, or staff so he doesn't like his job. Plus with answering the same question fiddy times, all while you feeling this is wasting your huge brain power. Call him out on this and you'll get the block.

Lastly gay, I like trolls that are witty and stay fresh. So please don't walk on line so much, this board needs growth in basketball knowledge and entrainment.

Two summers ago I was sitting at Charlotte-Douglas & Bonnell sat down across from me. I asked him what he thought about the draft & he flipped his poo. Basically told me to leave him alone because he wasn't working & didn't want to talk about Charlotte's poo organization.

Back on track! Sorry for the brief tangent...

I've posted this video at least 3 times. Don't know how anyone couldn't have wanted this dude from the beginning.

He and Kemba have played pickup together, and have similar offensive games. He's a defensive horse like MKG. He's an excellent passer and rebounder.

He's perfect for Steve Clifford's system...if he keeps it all on the court.

That's exactly what I was thinking, and they balance each other out. If MW produces similar to Atl days, we're getting a combined steal.

Sent from my iPad using CarolinaHuddle

Here we go again.

They balance each other out in these ways:

MW = Dumb + LS = Smart = Balanced

MW = Surprisingly too much + LS = Less than expected = Balanced

MW = Overpaid + LS = Underpaid = Balanced

The balance is all perception. Monetarily, the Williams contract is still ridiculous, but Cho gets brownie points for getting the best Free Agent left for way less than most expected him to make this offseason.

Maybe he thought you were hitting on him, lol.  :sword:

In the end I think the horents saved around 2million. Lances deal is the best one so far in this of season, more than makes up for 2million overpay for mw. But mw was the only 30+min stren4 ava, so simple low/no supply high demand cause niether zeller or noah is ready this year. Plus mcrob wasn't willing to take a two or four deal, cause either zeller or noah will be hogging all the minutes after two years.

I just said "Bad + Good = Balanced," so why would you try to explain that to me? The Marvin Williams deal is still ridiculous, because it's on the books. Nothing that you said changes the fact that they could still have $2M more to work with if they didn't overpay Williams.

Now I see why some people accuse some fans of "just wanting to spend money."

At least you said MW was overpaid. Some won't even go there just because we lucked out. If Houston had matched Parson, we'd be screwed. (Did Cho know they wouldn't?)

Either way, we got lucky. Post-name change mojo.

Maybe signing mw help getting lance, sure could have helped both sides. Cho has less to offer and there isn't some youngin killin the team play at the 4. Please name another 4 that has the skills of mw without tons of baggage thats a FA. Blache is the only one and he's remade his image somewhat(I'm still mad that tyrus thomas wasn't traded for him when it was offered). Hes the only one. He offers a good teamate and mentor for the type of 4 zeller/noah should become. So overpay a little for the only option. instead of mw @ 7, move two of that to lances deal and still no problem. I think the roberts deal was in the favor of horents too. Roberts will win over the fans here.

    • Nothing wrong with starting to look for bodies early. It's a long injury filled season. I doubt we get through unscathed.
    • We're in alignment regarding Thielen not being a game changer/breaker for the Panthers. Getting the ball into hands of playmakers like TMac and XL is going to open up things more than it is getting it to Thielen underneath (or letting him go after 50/50 balls 20yds downfield in his mid-30s). However, in a room where the other guys are two second year guys and two rookies, having a reliable vet that they can learn from is just as important as it is for the QB to have as a reliable third option. I can see that being worth $8.5M (just 3%) of the $279.2M cap... especially when looking at what's left out there: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/_/position/wr However, the idea that the team is forcing production to Thielen and leading to losses isn't supported by the data. Targets, not receiving yards, are how you can tell if a player is being "force fed." In the two games mentioned, let's look at the other players available... vs. TB 10 targets - Adam Thielen 9 targets - David Moore 8 targets - Tommy Tremble, Xavier Legette 3 targets - Jonathon Brooks 1 target - Dan Chisena, Feleipe Franks, Stephen Sullivan vs. PHI 11 targets - Adam Thielen 8 targets - Xavier Legette 5 targets - Chuba Hubbard, David Moore 2 targets - Tommy Tremble 1 target - Ja'Tavion Sanders, Deven Thompkins There isn't exactly a bounty of other names to throw the ball to. In those games, AT was one of the top 2 WRs. Diontae had been gone by that point.   So... yea. Agreed that Thielen isn't exactly carrying the team in his mid-30s, but it's undeniable that he was the most reliable target last season that still has quite a bit of value this season. Whether or not that value is reflected in a manner folks think on the contract is going to come down to personal taste. However, the idea that the team was forcing production to AT and that was the reason behind some losses couldn't be further from the truth.
    • I would also add that I think it's more than money.  AT has looked absolutely miserable out there at times, and there was a lot of speculation he would demand to be traded.  Personally, I thought he was a lock to be moved last year.  Maybe his hamstring is the only thing that prevents that from happening. The fact that he's not only willing to come back and play, but excited about it, really bodes well for Bryce.  AT is a veteran and he knows the game.  If he didn't have confidence in Bryce, I guarantee you he wouldn't be in a Panther uniform this year.  I'll take that as a positive.
