Lloyd's as FG Kicker

Recommended Posts

I can see him getting a bat at one if there is a couple seconds left on the clock before halftime and Fox wants to try a crazy long FG. I can't imagine him kicking any FG's outside of that scenario. Kasay is one of the best kickers in the game. I want him kicking FG's for us as long as he can. Kasay at 70% is better than 95% of the kickers in the NFL.

I wouldn't trust Kasay beyond 50 to 55. But inside that, he's always been money. Outside of that at game or halftime end, I'd trust Lloyd's to try...

Fox wouldn't do it, but even so...

The thing people don't seem to realize is Kasay still has one of the strongest most accurate legs from placement in the game. His perceived lack of strength comes from he's never been great at KO's.

If you placed him against Llloyd over a 50+ yarder from placement with a rush I'd bet on John having a better chance. Nothing against Lloyd but it's a whole different animal getting the timing down and striking the ball well enough to get a long ball up and straight than kicking off a tee or in practice.

To many bad things can happen on such a long kick, maybe desperation end of game, but if the kicker doesn't get the ball up and it's blocked at the 45 yd line it could be 6 the other way.

Not Fox ball to trust Lloyd to make that kick, not his style to trust anyone to do it.

All depends on the time on the clock, all depends on that...

I agree, but I still believe if IF Fox were to want a long ball attempt he'd trot Kasay out. In the same sense I wouldn't expect to see him trot Moore out over Jake for a hail marry from the opposing 40 either.
