Currently, only four ACC teams are included.

Duke is the one seed in the Atlanta bracket.

UNC is the three seed in the Oakland bracket.

NC State is the four seed in the Minneapolis bracket.

Boston College is six seed in the Washington D.C. bracket.

I'm a bit surprised that UNC and NC State are so high. I thought UNC would be a four or five seed, but I think they are deserving of a three. NC State doesn't deserve a four. They are too inconsistent, and will most likely be a six or so when the real brackets come out.

If this actually played out (which is obviously wont), UNC would have the easiest bracket ever. Memphis is the number one seed, with Gonzaga as number two, and George Washington at number four. UNC could practically book their Final Four tickets in advance if they got a bracket that easy.

For the record, Miami and Florida State are listed in the "Last Four Out" section, while Maryland is in the "Next Four Out". Basically, all three schools are within a few spots of working themselves in.

i saw the bracket earlier.

if carolina ended up a 3 in the same bracket as gonzaga at 2 i would be very happy. according to the new bracketology they would have to beat winthrop, wisconsin, and then gonzaga if the favorites won out. thats about as easy a road as you could ask for to the elite 8.

unfortunatley i dont think they will hang onto the 3 seed. they need to finish no worse than 3rd in the ACC so they can avoid duke in the semis and hopefully play them close in the season finale and acc tourny championship. if they finish 20-7 (thats what they would be if they win out except for at DUKE) and can make it to the finals of the ACC tourney and play Duke close to finish 22-8 i think they get the #3 seed. otherwise its a 4 or 5.

I would be willing to trade seeds with UNC, if Duke could get the bracket that they have in this. Memphis, Gonzaga, and George Washington? You could practically rest your starters all the way up to the elite eight matchup with Memphis...and even that game wouldn't be that tough. Sheldon Williams dominated them in a game where no one else on Duke did ANYTHING.

i didnt even see that GW was in that bracket with us. hahaha. that would be the dream bracket to be placed in. i couldactually see memphis getting beat pretty early by the 9 seed Michigan. Memphis is athletic, but undisciplined and extremely streaky. they've played no competition in CUSA, they remind me alot of the Huggins Era cincy teams that would always be a 2 or 3 seed and get bounced in the second round because they just got out "basketballed".

But there are still three weeks before the real brackets come out and i doubt carolina gets that lucky of a draw.

UNCC is no longer on the next 4 out :( They dont' really deserve it anyway though. They lost to some shitty teams this year. Wake and Charlotte were two of the biggest disappointments in the whole league this year. They were both expected to be top 15.

It looks like UNCW is in though. I always find myself cheering for them on the first weekend of the NCAA tournament. I love to see the smaller North Carolina schools do well.

It was awesome when Appalachian State made it in when I was going there. Too bad they screwed us with a 14 seed and made us play against Ohio State (who should have been a one seed that year).

I knew that Wake was going to be a bad team when they almost got beat by a Community College in a scrimmage game.

I doubt ANYONE gets that lucky of a draw.

the new bracketology came out today and carolina is holding steady at a 3 seed. they would play in Greensboro vs Manhattan, then the winner of the Marquette/Kentucky game. UConn (#1), Texas (#2), and Iowa (#4) are the other top seeds in the bracket.

duke would have the winner of the Alabama/Cincinatti game as their second round matchup in greensboro as well. Pittsburgh (#2), Illinois (#3) and UCLA (#4) are the other top seeds in that bracket.

and they have since moved Gonzaga and George Washinton out of the same bracket.

Yeag UConn is stacked. We don't match up well with them at all. They're good and deep in the post. Rudy Gay can kill you almost anywhere on the court. Marcus Williams is a good physical PG and Denham Brown just scored 25 against Villanova. Villanova's no slouch either.

The NCAA title goes through the Big East this year I think.

I'd feel a lot better if we had more depth in the post. If something were to happen to TH (fouls or injury) we'd be sunk.

I'd like to be more confident but truth be told we've already exceeded my expectations this year, so I'm just going to sit back and watch my team play without any expectations. It's much more enjoyable that way.

Dude, you were at App too? What years? I was up there when Western made the tourney and got matched up with either Arkansas or Purdue (#1 seed, cant remember though) and they took them down to the wire and almost pulled off the upset. I hate Western, but we were pulling for them since they repped the SoCon.

    • I'm not sure 19 is too high for Rodriguez anymore.  He looks to be moving up boards, but it could be smokescreens.
    • I see XL this way---great athlete.  Good person.  When we drafted him, we knew he was raw.  One year of WR in college (starting) and in HS, he was a QB, I believe. We knew we would need patience with him.  I think year 3 will be make or break.  He is older, and I think that people with his athletic ability have always been better than those with less---but those with less can become more successful.  Why is that?  in my view, it is mental. XL can learn the mechanics and nuances of playing WR if he becomes focused on it and works at it.  I had the opportunity to talk to Armanti Edwards one day after OTAs (great guy) and he discussed how overwhelming it was.  He seemed shocked.  At that time, I knew that Fox hated the pick (I heard him mock Armanti to another coach when he saw Edwards drop a punt from a jugs machine--then I saw Armanti look back at Fox as if to suggest that he was feeling the pressure to please the coach. We forget that these are kids in their early 20s.  At the time, Fox was a lame duck.  Remember when he had Clausen as the #3 QB and was forced to move him up the ladder?  I liked Fox, but I think the climate and culture was influenced by the politics.  Currently, I see another Wr from SC who is struggling, but he is ina  very nurturing, positive culture. Let's see what happens with XL.  I am frustrated too---but XL was a second round talent who was raw and we traded up to get him.  He had 500 yards as a rookie--lets call 2025 a sophomore slump and see if we can't get at least 50 yards per game out of him.  If not, cut bait.
    • Sadiq feels like a lazy comp.  Sure he would be a big improvement over what we have but at a position we don't and maybe can't (midget qb) utilize.  I hope the staff puts together a list of players you automatically take at 19 (Freeling, Lemon, Downs, Faulk) and if none are there, trade back to look at (Thieneman, McNeil-Warren, Proctor, Lomu, Allen, Iheanachor, Banks, Woods).  I get the people that think an OT would be a waste because we temporarily patched that hole, and ILB and safety are a waste because that is high to take those particular positions, but by trading back we get extra picks to fill every need.  A draft that has an OT, S, ILB, slot WR, and C would really put us in a good position moving forward if we get an extra first three rounds additional pick.
