OK, let's talk about the Lions

Lions O is better at home vs outdoor on the road. We got that at least going for us

What he said. We need that Home Field to work in our favor.

The biggest thing to worry about is when we pressure Stafford, he gets a little dumpoff to Reggie Bush and there's nobody there to stop him.

Which is why you don't blitz. You absolutely have to get pressure with 4. Which is tough to do. And they don't max protect much. They trust their front 5. We need to pressure them into leaving more in to block. Pressure + fewer recievers is the key.

their defense is no slouch, but their secondary can be had.  problem is, like us, they have two monsters in the middle of the dline and two very good linebackers in Levy(very underrated and played like a monster last night) and the always solid Tulloch.  if we can wear them down, i dont know much about their reserves so we definitely need them long, momentum killing drives.

They do have some talent, that is for sure. But they have very little depth. We absolutely need to continue with the TOP format. We need to run well, they fall for Play Action, as do most teams. It is the best way to attack them. Miss direction, and Play action.

Lions fan here

Our back up RT Corey Hilliard is good enough to start on many teams -

The loss of Bentley at nickle corner hurt bad tho

Been a Lions fan for almost 50 years myself. Glad to have you here.

The O-line is really the only group where depth is not a problem. Losing Bentley is going to hurt. I know Lions fans are not worried about our WRs at this point. But by the end of the game they will know that we have plenty of receiving options.

If we can run effectively. We have a great shot at keeping your D on the field, and your O off the field. That is the best way for us to beat you. Time of possession is our friend.

We also really need to pressure Mathew with just our front 4, with a few well timed blitzed thrown in. We do a great job of stopping the run on the way to the QB. We really need to continue that trend.

I hate playing the Lions. I want both teams to win. But...I am a Panther fan now. So *** the Lions. Just for this week.

Gruden mentioned several times last night that Detroit is playing the Saints Offense this season.  I think he said that their OC (Lombardi?) was an OC on the Saints last year.  He definitely said this is a new scheme for them.

We are built to stop the Saints.  I expect Detroit to be in for a rude awakening.  Brees is better than Matt Stafford and we almost always get to Brees.

TD said this in his interview today.  He said the players were calling/texting each other, saying how it looked identical to the sAints, with different talent plugged in.

Have to get pressure only sending 4. Megatron is such a beast he is basically asked to run 3 routes. Curl, slant, deep post. You have to keep linebackers in zones to help on the short routes. And a safety deep to help double the post or to tackle him when he splits the D on the slant.

We just can't get beat vertically and can't let Bush get out in space.

It may mean giving up a few 1st downs underneath but that's ok as long as we contain and get to Stafford. Can't throw deep if the play doesn't have time to develop.

Also, ziggy looked pretty good last night and the kid had a good motor. That match up with Bell will be one to watch.
