Depending on how we play against DET

Would you have predicted we would go 12-4 after game 2 last season?

Actually no. I was ready to give up on the season but the main difference this time is our defense being able to hold on to leads. Based on how they played the rest of the season and how they did in preseason this year, I think they have turned the corner for good. We just need to see Mr. Newton with his new toys to see how the season will go.

I will be ready to tell you guys if this is the year we win the SB or not. The defense is already in top form. I need to see how Cam plays. Don't forget, we were number 2 seed in the NFC last season.

I'm going to give you my honest opinion. You should wait a couple of more games into the season before you start analyzing whether this team is superbowl bound or not. Last year most people wrote us off for a less than .500 season after starting

1-3. It's especially silly to analyze the offense this sunday as a finished product when Cam has had limited practice so it may take him some games to get into a groove. Hell, Joe Flacco was ass last sunday but brought it yesterday and looked like a playoff qb. It's just stupid to analyze seasons so early let the team settle in both offense and defense including Cam.

    • Right and I think we can have a conversation about that. But even with the scheme he should still be able to muster more than 1.5 sacks right? I mean DJ Johnson played in Evero's scheme too but that didn't stop us from calling him a bust. Scourton didn't seem to have trouble flashing. There can be different things true at one time.
    • I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.
    • I think his knee would make a good reason to switch to guard IF he returns.  Half don't.  Half of those don't last too long.  The strain on a knee (320lb man) vs speed rushers is more substantial.  So I would keep him if I could on a small contract (he will make $17.5 in 2026 fully guaranteed) and think of him as a possible guard for the post Lewis/Hunt era.  Knee injuries in big men are not invitations to invest in them.
