Kelvin Benjamin: Panthers Playmaker

After 3 weeks i think it is about time the Panthers offense start getting KB involved from the get go! The running game isnt gonna carry us and the defense can only give the offense so much time to score.

Kelvin Benjamin had shown he can come big and make plays when we need it the most also in my opinion this would help him evolve as a WR and truly reinforce his chemistry with Cam. I am surprised this has not been mentioned sooner but I think its time KB is given his big boy pants, he has shown he deserves them!

Our offense right now lacks spark and I like to think Shula realizes that. Cam at the moment cant be the one making all the plays with his feet since his injuries seem to be catching up to him. KB needs to be more involved from the start and force defenses to honour him which will inturn open up space for other players.

Just imagine a stacked offense where defenses have to keep a safety to watch KB, a linebacker or corner watching Olsen and at the same time they have to worry about Cam and the other WRs. We could even see a revival of our running game in the process. Call me an idiot but in my opinion this is a top 5 offense just ready to ignite!

The steelers loss may hurt but in my opinion it showed that this offense has huge amounts of untapped potential but for some reason Shula or whoever isnt using it. I hope things start clicking soon or else this season will be a long one. How long do you think our defense can hold while our snail paced offense takes its time against better teams like Seattle, Chicago, and Green Bay comin up.

I think Cam missing out on preseason and training camp is starting to show.

DA has already figured out that one-on-one with KB means throw a soft pitch in the air for him to go get. It really ain't that hard.

Cam did. KB mis-timed his jump. Should have been a TD

He also did it last week, but KB was out of bounds

Cam is completing nearly 70% of his passes while playing with broken ribs behind the worst OL in the league.

Cam haters need to go shoot themselves.

lindseyj, I am in no way a Cam hater. I'm one of his biggest proponents and always have been - at least after the Panthers drafted him. I think he's in extraordinary talent that I've really never seen before.

Injuries, OL play and lack of running game aside, I thought Cam could have taken more shots to KB when the Steelers were in man-to-man coverage. KB's a mismatch on any one DB. Exploit the mismatch until they adjust. Make them adjust and then find the weakness created by that adjustment.

    • His first season. I saw it with my own eyes, others saw it too. Old man Dalton had to come in to make the throw. I watch every game. You must of just missed it. He had another chance a couple of weeks ago from the 50 and didn't even attempt to throw it to the endzone....cause he cant.
    • I would say if they put Corbett back at center, that would be evidence of some kind of favoritism thing going on.  I would have to ask if our coaches are leaders of men.  So they bet not do some stupid stuff like that.  It would be one thing if Corbett had pedigree at the position, a probowler.  This dude has never been a good center in the slightest, and only looked decent at the guard position in the past. (Which I don't believe he ever had a fully healthy season as a Panther)    So this shouldn't even be a discussion if you're the coaches.  But again, Corbett never should have been the starter in the first place.  I know we're armchair coaching when it comes to these things, but before the season, I was rooting for Mays to win the position.  The guy played a key role in Bryce's surgence last year.  Why mess up that combination?  And they did mess up the combination by making Corbett the starter.  It could be we might of won against the Jags had Mays been the starter. (Yes, I believe it was that critical)  We know Mays went in late against the Cards, where Bryce began looking better at the end. (Though the Cards played soft coverage)  So all these things says Cade Mays is the better center for the team.  Yet certainly he is the better center for Bryce if nothing else.
    • He was our best YAC guy in 2023 and 4th in 2024(behind Hubbard, Sanders, Coker). He was a great and productive WR for us because he knows how to play the game, he had a connection with Bryce specifically and our other options have largely been atrocious.
