Before his week three explosion of four catches and 46 yards, Lafell vented his frustration to the Boston media.

Brandon LaFell is frustrated as hell. No, that’s not a Dr. Seuss rhyme, it is the New England Patriots wide receiver’s thoughts on his role in the team’s offense.  While speaking with the Boston Globe, LaFell expressed his frustrations through two weeks of the regular season

“I’m frustrated as hell, man,” LaFell said, via the Boston Globe. “I want to catch passes like every other guy in here, like every receiver around the league. But the game plan is not for me to catch, it’s to block. So that’s what I’ve got to do.”

on a side note, Lafell was sticking up for Cam via twitter last Sunday night saying "How about you get back there and throw the ball with nobody blocking #SNFonNBC"

He was targeted 6 times in Game 1 vs Miami and had zero receptions

So they didn't target him any in Game 2

after week 2, LaFell had served as a blocker on 37 of his 77 snaps (48.1 percent). He ran pass routes the other 40 snaps

LaFell served as a run-blocker on over 33 percent of his snaps in each of the past three years at Carolina

Ron Rivera said:

“LaFell is our best blocking wide receiver, and a lot of his blocks are made downfield,” Rivera said. “When you see him block downfield, you know he’s rolling.”

Ricky Proehl said:

“Just being around as a player and now as a coach for three years, I have so much respect for what he does,” Proehl said. “He’s in there blocking in run personnel, and he enjoys doing it. We ask him to do a lot of things that some of the other guys can’t do. I try to just tell him that it doesn’t go unnoticed, especially by me.”

LaFell:

“I get so teed off when I don’t get the ball that I want to hit somebody,” LaFell said. “Whatever play it is, I got to go block so I have to go take my frustrations out on whoever’s in front of me.”

would love to hear him say, "I want to make some catches, but I am here to do whatever it takes to win!"

Does he realize his team is listening to him and they don't hesitate to move on very quickly?

LaFell a few days ago:

“Like any other receiver, man, I would like to get the ball every snap if I can,” LaFell said. “But within this offense, we just go out there and we just do whatever the defense gives us. Defense comes out there and allows us to run the ball, we gonna run it down they throat. If they get back there and try to stuff the box, we gonna throw the ball.”

...

"It’s just going out there and playing within the offense. Doing your job on every play."

...

LaFell said he feels as if he’s been getting open in his routes but understands why Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman have been getting the majority of the targets (32 combined in first two games).

“Yeah I think I’ve been getting open,” LaFell said. “At the same time when I’m getting open, other guys like Jules and Gronk they’ve been open too so you can’t complain when you not getting the ball when other guys are open and getting the ball.”
