Don't agree with everything you wrote, just wanted to add this.

Right now, plumbers, electricians, framers, welders, divers, etc....are making serious coin, but you have to work, and the work is dangerous sometimes.

This is so true.

I was all about education as a child & teen, as drilled into me by my parents. I was in college till I was 25. Debt free and I have a Master's degree in computer science. I'm 30 now & I have a decent job and make around $50k a year.

My younger brother, on the other hand, barely graduated high school & laughed when my parents asked him to go to college. Worked in a manufacturing plant & spent his money/time partying & doing whatever. Then at 21 his girlfriend got pregnant & he finally grew up.

He got a job as a cable contractor & made nearly $60k a year working long hours 6 days a week. Now he's gotten into electrician work & is making nearly $80k a year & he's a 27 year old with just a hs diploma.

You don't have to go to college to make a good living. You do, however, have to work very hard.

how do you have 5 years of experience with a masters degree in computer science and only make 50k?

Hire the kid fresh out of college with no experience, or the man without the degree but 20+ years experience? Hrmm

I only have 2 years experience, I spent 2 years traveling across Europe & Australia after college.

Then I have a cousin who graduated hs then dropped out of college at 19. He's 23 now & makes nearly $100k a year laying hardwood & ceramic floors working for himself. He works 12 hours a day 6 days a week though, & that's some pretty hard labor. Still though, kinda frustrating.
