I actually only used Newton's and Wilson's names in the original post because it seems like unless the magic words "Cam" or "Luck" are invoked, posts often seem to fall dead born from the keyboard despite the merit of the idea involved.

As it was, I limited my comparison to a very narrow portion of what is surely a team stat: sacks and QB hits.

The OP was never intended to be a comparison of Wilson and Newton as QB's...it was simply an attempt to point out that Carolina's offensive line is not nearly as poor as some would like to believe. That is my belief based on what I have seen and backed up with the most relevant statistics available.

You don't have to agree with me. The vast majority of the posters on this forum will never agree with me. Some have accused me of being a Troll because I don't often post and when I do it is generally controversial. That is primarily because I see no need to post on topics that everyone is in agreement on. What's the point? Rah, rah, sis boom bah...who cares...the bandwagon is always full...I don't need to jump on board.

In a couple of hours this thread will be gone and everyone can go back to saying we have the worst offensive line in the history of football and the worst defensive backs in the history of football.

And then you can all rage about how Rivera and Shula and Gettleman need to be fired even though we are 3-3-1, 20-8-1 over our last 29 games and are entering the last 9 games of the season where we play exactly one game against a team with a winning record.

I don't have the time at the moment but IMO of you want to look at the OLs there are better ways to do it.....our OL gets blown up from the jump often and it would never be shown looking at your figures. Bc Cam avoids it. There are lots of plays that are successful and the OL has been utter trash in the process.

      Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.

      I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.

      Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
