Three things....................alcohol and mob mentality in an emotional state will result in such actions within a crowd........no matter what team, what city or what fan base......

 

Have you ever heard the saying in baseball......kill the umpire?

 

Well alcohol and mob mentality in an emotional state during games in the late 1800's in MLB resulted in the crowd chasing down umpires making bad calls and hanging them after games!

 

Some people when drinking or not don't know how to control themselves in a responsible manner...............then again you don't want the crowd to turn into a polite golf clamp after every play either...........

 

The way I figure it........if I made the kind of money pro athletes make these days.....the crowd could throw darts at me during the whole game and I'd still walk off the field at the end of the day with a smile on my face all the way to the bank...............
