The Steelers have cut the following players:

Troy Polamalu ->8.250->.7->5.775=$6

Lawrence Timmons->12.566->.7->8.79=$9

Cam Thomas->2.5->.8->2=$2

Cortez Allen->6.981->.5->3.49=$3

Cameron Heyward->6.969->.8->5.58=$6

Total Savings of $26

No organization is going to clean house like this. i only allowed the Troy cut.

Cortez Allen was one of the bottom 5 CB's in the league last season when he was healthy.  Cam Thomas isn't worth the $2 price tag when I could get the same thing for $1.

The only questionable cuts are Timmons, who I may be able to get for less than $9, and Heyward, who I went back and forth on, but decided he wasn't worth $6.

The comment about no organization cleaning house is true, I will settle for renegotiating Roethlisberger, Timmons, and Heyward instead, but I didn't know that was an option.

Hard to fix holes at OLB, CB and S with $2.  Someone had to be cut, just trying to play by the rules.

i will allow the Allen cut, and Thomas cut. but Timmons is a fixture on that defense, and damn good LB. Heyward I'm on the fence with. will add those 2 to the pool, and adjust the money.

That's fine, I was going to try to get them back via free agency anyway, but based on how much free agents go for in previous seasons I thought I might be able to get them cheaper.  Heyward is in the option year on his contract so an extension is probable.

Not saying I don't want those guys on the team, based on the rules of the game it seems logical to try to get them cheaper or find better value options.  Timmons was only cut because I didn't think I could get Roethlisberger cheaper than $18.

    • D Carr must have really disliked the saints to wait and do this announcement after the draft has passed if he made this call a few weeks before the draft sure they would have approached it and the offseason differently.  oh well will be interesting to see how their qbs perform.  would love to see them roll with Thill and just make the whole offense towards his skillset.  Although sadly would be only playing in about half the games with how often he gets injured.
    • I have to say it's quite fascinating seeing you pivot from months and months of wailing and agonizing about threads derailing into Bryce Young slingfests only for you to turn around and do the same thing. And just for the record. Nobody in life ever attained wisdom and clarity from mistakes by having people blindly fawn over them and tell them they are above reproach and incapable of making mistakes. Our front office is just as human as we are. And based on the fact that front offices across the league outside of a handful of teams change on a fairly regular basis it's safe to say they are certainly no more infallible than the average Joe even though they possess significantly more knowledge usually. If you want a utopia where all you do is shine shoes for anyone associated with the Panthers you go right on ahead and create yourself a new community sir. More power to you.
    • I trust Morgan when it comes to LBs so I think Wallace will do well.
