Code of Conduct

DO show up for the game! You can't do much in your living room!

DON'T wait for someone else to get up first to get the fan defense into the game. Take the initiative!

DO get up on every down during the Panther's defense, not just on 3rd Down.

DON'T cuss out the Panthers if they fail to stop the opposing offense, or even lose the game at that. They're OUR team for Pete's sake!

DO let anyone around you that complains you're making too much noise that this is a football game, not their living room!

DON'T cuss or use harsh profanity while being a Third Down Man! Children may be around, and you've got to have class.

DO have patience with fans sitting around you. At first they may not want to participate with you on 3rd Down, but don't give up. They'll come around, especially if the team's winning.

DON'T leave for concessions or the bathroom during the Panther's defense - you might miss that awesome defensive play that you could have taken credit for! Yep, that's right! Third Down Man takes all the credit for a defensive stop!

DO bang on your seat to make as much noise as possible. If the seat next to you is empty, then bang both of them!

DON'T get into fights or shouting matches with opposing team's fans - keep it light or ignore them. You will probably bear the brunt of their ribbing or jeering, but you'll be taking it for the team and all the Panther fans around you. How you hold yourself during the tough times will show what a leader you are.

And chances are they will get thrown out in no time. Under no circumstances should you be ejected from the stands during the game - we need every Third Down Man out there to the end!

DO respect the stadium's security guards. If they feel that you are being too rowdy, then take your enthusiasm down a couple of notches. You don't want to get thrown out!

DON'T start whining if we start losing or getting behind in the score. Third Down Man is not a whiner. Stay positive or hold your tongue. No one around you wants to hear negative comments - it's just a game!

DO buy a t-shirt! That way you can be easily identified as a Third Down Man!

DON'T leave the game in the 3rd Quarter! That is the worse thing a Third Down Man can do, since there are going to be plenty more 3rd Down's left in the game. Even if there's no chance of winning, you can always practice for the next game.

    • Bryce has been in the NFL 3 years and still looks like a very mediocre QB. Most games are nothing but mediocre plays with a highlight reel every now and then.  He is a very INCONSISTENT QB and it’s very fustrating. He does not deserve a 5th year option, even though the Panthers and all the dumb asses in the front office will give it to him.
    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
