I do think compensatory picks should be based more on performance, rather than contract. Of course they say both are considered, but the Michael Johnson example is Exhibit A in that contract is more important in the current equation.

Stats, Pro Bowls, Super Bowls, Awards, hell not getting cut a year later should hold more weight than contract.

It hurts me to agree with an Aints fan, but yeah that's kind of bogus.

I think that is the point of the article. Adjust the cap and the value is adjusted more proportionally.

It's a thought. And would stop the getting a comp pick for a guy that's currently on your roster.
