25 teams open offseason programs today

"The seven NFL teams with new head coaches received a head start of up to two weeks for launching their offseason workout programs. That leaves 25 teams that launch Phase One of the lifting and conditioning and classroom sessions today. So every team except the Bills, Jets, Broncos, Raiders, Bears, 49ers, and Falcons will get rolling today. Which means that there could be plenty of quotes emerging from players and coaches"

Kelvin Benjamin wasn't able to throw with Cam Newton during offseason. "He had his own thing going on. But that's what this is for."

Can't wait for the chicken littles to take this here out of context and run with it.

    • I mentioned this in another thread but i'll restate it here. Keeping a wait and watch approach and passing on the 5th year option kinda makes sense like obliquely, but in practice neither the team or the player wants it. The player doesn't want to risk injury when he could have at least another year locked up, and the team doesn't want to risk the player blowing up in their fourth year and holding the team over the barrel. If you're the QB and you're playing that well you obviously test the free agent market, and you'd probably be bitter about it as well.  modern first round qb contracts are essentially 3 year deals with the option of an additional 2 to put downward pressure on contract extensions. You either pick up the 5th year, extend with a new contract, or move on.  just sitting tight on the fourth year isn't a practical choice for any of the parties.
    • The point was Miles Sanders wasn't just a guy in Philly. He was at least as good as Chuba has been in Carolina.
    • I have not been impressed with our pass blocking since at least 2022. Still remember watching Darnold live against the Seahawks when we were dominating them in the run game and we still allowed far too much pressure on him regardless. It has not gotten much better since. In fairness to this year's unit, they have been hit by injuries. Oftentimes, even a mediocre overall unit is better than a stacked one if the former stays healthy throughout the entire season. Constant shuffling only means a much greater likelihood someone will blow their assignment and that's all it takes for a sack or worse.
