Reality Shift

Or you could simply be reasonable and realize no team in the history of the NFL has gone 19-0.

We were FAR from perfect last year. We've improved a lot, but we won't fix everything in one offseason. I believe we will win the South again, maybe a first round bye, maybe even the superbowl. But to believe we are going to always win every single game isn't optimism, it's ignorance.

Ignorance is me trying to prove to you that we will not lose any games, it may or may not happen, I don't know. That is not the case in my OP. I'm simply stating to expect to beat every single opponent, because you do expect to beat every opponent. Am I wrong? Do you not expect a victory at every kick off? (doesn't mean its going to happen automatically). In other words, aim for perfection but settle for whatever outcome. As a fan, why in the hell not?

But there are others who just watch to watch the game, I understand.

The difference between wanting to win and thinking we will is the difference between heart and mind.

i recognize the OP is trying to give an inspiring thought but we as fans have almost zero to do with the game. I'm all for firing up the fan base but it has a negligible effect on the field.

yes I want to go 19-0. You or anyone else can inspire me a la St Cuthpert's speech but it doesn't effect the product on the field. I'm all for it, rally cry and all, but those bastards have to play. They hear us but only slightly.

crying freedom will only get is so far. The players have to execute. That having been said, you cheer the men on relentlessly. There is no other option.

    • The people who aren’t doomers have seen progress and are hoping he will continue to progress and become a consistently great quarterback. No one is saying this is the finished product and has played well all year.
    • I'm glad someone involved in the process here is manning up and saying the quiet stuff out loud. "I think Pete's [ND athletic director], his behavior has been egregious," Yormark said. "It's been egregious going after Jim Phillips, when they saved Notre Dame during COVID. ... The chair said that as Notre Dame and Miami got closer together, head-to-head would be a factor, OK?" https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/47261132/big-12-brett-yormark-calls-notre-dame-pete-bevacqua Just more absolute cuck bullshit from the ACC though. You need another conference commissioner to step in and say what you should be saying while you continue to kowtow to ND and create excuses for them like a battered spouse? GTFOH... with the "oh he loves me, he won't do it again" ass bullshit while you're sitting there with a black eye and a lump upside your head while he's strutting around saying "yeah, she learned her lesson this time she won't be trying me again like that". The quicker this ends in an divorce the better off the kids will be for it.
