Gaming on the Surface Pro 3 or 4

Before I get any of the responses of that is not what this machine is made for, that is part of what I want it for. Basically I was thinking about purchasing the Surface Pro 3 i5 8gb or the Surface Pro 4 i5 4gb. These are in the budget that I have. I need it for work but for an added bonus I figured why not get a computer/tablet that can play real computer games. I have seen the videos online that it's possible and tbh I don't really care about perfect graphics because this wouldn't be my main gaming system just my traveling one.

Does anyone have any personal experience playing in games on these devices and does it get too hot or unplayable? Should I go for the older version but more ram or the newer version and less? For those that don't know unfortunately you can't upgrade the ram by yourself on these.

Basically the games that I'd be playing are Skyrim, Mass Effect, Dragons Age, etc.

Thanks!

You'll be looking at medium settings and lower resolutions. I want a surface as well, the new ones look so good! But I'm not looking to do more than get back into Lord of the Rings Online.  Maybe some light editing.

Usually discrete graphics are always better than integrated.

Unfortunately they seem to be having all sorts of problems since their release. Honestly it will not affect me purchasing one. I still will but I hope they fix them while I wait for a Black Friday deal.

You may be the first person to ever say this.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
