Lol I'm not sure Philly's proven my "right all along" yet but I'm certainly happy with his play overall---not a single drop in games that count this year! Just wish he wouldn't disappear completely for a few games in there. Really like what we do with those end arounds to him though. I think if Funch continues to improve when we get KB back next year our WR group can actually be a strength. Philly/Cotch/Ginn rotating at the 3 and 4s or even with Funch and a clear dominant "#1" in KB, and obviously Olsen is one of the best. So much to be excited about going forward.

I kind of laughed when he said you were right all along about Philly,  and I shook my head last week at some guy who told all his "haters" to STFU. Talking about going overboard.  I guess it's all a matter of perspective. That being said, Philly has made a couple of clutch catches the last couple of weeks,  and though I wish he would bring even more,  I believe he can be a solid rotational guy (as you characterized) or decent insurance coming off the bench. I think that this will be his ceiling,  and I can live with that.  This is a far cry from excelling as an every down starter that so many people were trying to sell me before the regular season.

Philly has become a solid part of our receiving corps that is greater than the sum of its parts,  and is modestly improving as the season moves forward---a unit that produces enough to make defenses pay for miscalculation and overestimation of the unit as a whole.

I am most excited by Funchess showing us (if not ever so slightly) that he does have at least modest to good speed,  can have good hands,  can exploit his physical advantages,  and he can indeed run some good routes. Yesterday he showed that he really can be what many of us were expecting,  and we know that he can even play better.  As he turns a few corners by gaining experience and confidence,  Funchess and Benjamin will be a problem for the opposition.

Consistency is the key!
