oh I agree, we should be pushing for Peanut to come back.  I think we are pushing for it.

Werder just doesn't understand why we are pushing for it.  We don't want to have to play Cortland a full game being so brand new.  He still is learning our system....but we might be forced to b/c Jones is horrible

Cortland is a vet. After two weeks, I am pretty sure he has a grasp of our D. After all, he played damm near half the snap last week on very little prep. Besides...who does ATL have in the slot that scares you?

Why is taking a guy who can obviously do the job alone against their WR1 (through previous proven performance) and putting him on their WR2 just so you can use up more of the assets of your defense on their WR1 a good strategy?

In a way I agree with you. Why take 3 guys to cover 2? But...if you use a safety to cover half the field, it really doesn't matter where you use him. Double Jones, and single cover White. It is still just 3 guys on their top 2 WR. That still leaves 4 guys to cover the TE, #3WR, the TE, and the RB. With our talent, that doesn't seem to difficult.

On the other hand. Covering Jones with just Norman sounds good. But, he still may need Safety help. And you still have to have help on White. It may seem contradictory, but doubling Jones with 2 guys, and covering White with Norman, makes somewhat sense. Instead of spending 4 guys to cover 2 guys, you can use 3 guys to cover those same 2 guys.

Doesn't sound right. But if it works, it can work.

Did anyone else notice that, last game, Norman was often at the middle of the line of scrimmage until the Saints broke their huddle? That's new. Wonder what the reason was. Any guesses?

That  isn't new.  Norman is known for following his guy out of the huddle.  Even Sean Payton mentioned it last week before the game (talking about Norman's competitiveness).  It isn't a strategy but just part of Norman's head games.
