Start of 4 game road trip...  Also, i believe i read 9n twitter earlier that Batum and Hawes are out lol.  Steph also conveniently decided to come back tonight for the Dubs after there being some uncertainty about his status over the last few days/games.

Winning this could be the uptick in momentum we desperately need right now, but we have not looked ready to play for several games now.

Man Montsta...  i felt like that was going to happen, not only because you all are having a record-setting season, but because i expected it to follow the same pattern we've been stuck in recently.  Defensively, we've been atrocious and we just cant get out of our own way.  Playing you guys definitely wasnt the medicine we needed to get right, lol.

We went from 2nd in the east a couple weeks ago to feeling like a d-league team.  Just tough to watch, let alone explain.

Pretty simple, really. They've started playing a tough patch of the schedule. Boston, Toronto, OKC and Golden State is no picnic, and while the Hornets have improved, they're still deficient in talent to match up with the top teams in either conference.

Eventually the schedule will even out, and history shows that 1. This is has been a second half team and 2. They will make a neat under the radar trade to get better in a deficient area for the stretch run.

    • Pretty typical it appears comparing to other teams.
    • From Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/nutshellsportz.bsky.social/post/3mo3rkrcezs2e  A look at Run Threat Rate across the NFL Run Threat Rate is the percentage of plays where a team either runs the ball or uses play action. This compares each team’s rate when leading or tied versus when trailing to show how much they abandon the run when playing from behind.
    • That's the current dilemma on both parties at the moment. If Ickey comes back too soon, he won't be 100% and his play will suffer. Leading to a potential decrease in his contract. If Ickey is unable to play and sits the entire 2026 season, his contract will still take the same hit since it tells all 32 team that he is not fully recovered. On the Panthers side, I'm sure they would want to keep Ickey if he is fully recovered but he is obviously in a contract year. They don't want to re-sign him to a massive deal since it be too risky and they know if Ickey is able to return to form.  Best case scenario, the Panthers wants to offer Ickey a 1-2 year heavily incentive based prove it deal. However, Ickey would most likely decline the offer and test the market as  another team can come in and offer Ickey a better deal if they are desperate enough for O-line help.
