both can and do apply.

you can be knowledgeable and not knowledgeable about a sport and be a bandwagon fan.

See my longer post for the other definition above. The one where I didn't quote you, for the other definition.

The Carolina Panthers are great entertainment but if you don't go through the hard times with a sports team how can the good times feel good

You aren't a Panthers fan you just like the entertainment .. and that's ok

I'm not a GS Warriors fan but I can watch them for the entertainment factor, the box office factor .. the Carolina Panthers right now are box office ... must see T.V. and will be for who knows how long

Why you picked this forum is a pretty easy guess.

I would encourage you to head over the the Tennessee Titans forum, they could really use some supportive and even objective dialogue this off season.

The reason bandwagon h good and bad. Ups and downs. It fosters that gang war attitude you mentioned but that is a familial protectiveness and is natural. It can go too far but it's natural, human and adult.

I picked this forum because I want to be where the action is/its timely.

I'm picking Denver but who ever wins is unimportant to me. I can be wrong about who I pick and my life wont change.

you'd think the internet would be real busy with sports forums but it really isnt.

Each one has 5 guys that do all the talking or its really dead at others.

Its difficult to find 2 forums per team that are worth a damn.

What does a bandwagon fan have to do with gang war? Makes no sense at all.

one fan cares too much and makes it personal. and hateful towards others.

the other cares too much what people think of who he's a fan of.

two pointless groups to be in

I would think that this forum is more active. But I could be wrong. Regardless, this forum is the poo. Mainly because it's ours and we love it. We love the team. We have an emotional investment. We are all in. And I love it.

Bringing up "gang war", out the blue, still makes no sense now that you've explained your reasoning.

it makes plenty of sense. I'm just making a general joke of an extreme but there are obviously immature fans or so called fans who kick  a guys ass for wearing a different jersey at a stadium and or lesser but just as stupid examples.

    • I would write “give remmers tight end help” on a yellow sticky note and stuck it in shulas playbook the night before superbowl 50.
    • And don’t worry about Bryce he will be great… Peyton Manning had a horrible rookie year too 😂
    • Nothing wrong with it at all until you start telling others they are bad fans or not fans. But you are the good fan because you never say negative stuff about the team.    I did many years of that type of uninformed fanning because there really was no info and coverage like there is with the internet.    I mean, I used to go to the store and get Street and Smith’s annual football issue. That was about the extent of what you could get if you didn’t live in a big city with sportswriters covering and reporting.  There was no video to look at or replay the games and if you didn’t live in the market you could only rarely see your football team play.    TI have fanned since being a kid in the early 1960s, and as late as 1995 - ‘97 I lived in Atlanta and good luck getting more than 3 or 4 games a year on TV. No radio either. No print coverage outside of an AP recap and box unless they played Atlanta.  People today that have always had the network connection don’t know.    I wasn’t very educated about the Panthers until I finally got internet.
