I Don't Know Why I Continue To Read The Charlotte Observer

A couple of the Observer guys are alright but if I had one wish as it pertains to Panthers coverage it would be to replace David Newton (ESPN). He is so corny, tries too hard to sound cool, tries his best to manufacture controversies out of nothing for clicks, and there are times you'd think he was a Bucs fan. And I'm tired of his incessant need to post "ICYMI" tweets on every single paragraph he writes. Of course we missed it! We don't read your crap! We are not acknowledging your ridiculous click-bait articles.

Dude, I couldn't agree more with D. Newton being annoying as fug.  There are a million examples out there, but I'll use one that he put out as recently as last night entitled "Kawann Short's absence has to be concerning for Panthers":

Now obviously I can't say for sure b/c I'm not in Ron's head, but I doubt he's seriously pissed off about KK missing OTA's. Perfect example of a ridiculous click-bait article man.  Nobody is making a huge deal out of this other than your article!  You're the one making it a distraction by asking RR about it over and over.  Hell I look at it as a positive thing for the time being, let big Vern get some much needed reps with the 1's.

Person and JJ do good work.

Judging by tweets, I get the impression that the sports editor of the CO doesn't actually like football, or doesn't like sports in general. Maybe he has something against Richardson, there's no telling but on more than several occasions his tweets make it seem like he has a disdain for the Panthers.

They seems to be contrarian just to be contrarian. Almost like they don't want to be seen as fans of the team, so they look objective. But they come across as dumbasses who hate the Panthers.

Probably Steelers fans.

I think you are wrong.  I think that the coach does care a great deal that his leaders are not at OTA's....especially those that are not there because of contract situations.

Don't get me wrong....I hate the Observer.  But, I am betting that Ron is irked as well.

Fair enough, but as long as KK is there once the mandatory stuff starts, I don't think RR is gonna lose any sleep over it.  If you continue reading D. Newton's article he mentions that RR even got a little annoyed when reporters were asking about it, which was the real point I was trying to make.  He's just stirring the pot man.....trying his best to make it more of a distraction than it needs to be at this point in the game.

I agree....missing OTA's does not necessarily mean that KK will hold out.  But, it is something k am sure the coaches are a little concerned about. Chemistry is everything with this team and having your leaders there for all activities is important to that.

Oh believe me, I want KK there too.  My post was just more about D. Newton, but I'll digress on that.

Commenting solely on the KK situation though......I'll change my tone if he doesn't show for the mandatory mini camp next week.  Without a doubt.

I vowed to myself to never read them again last year. Their football coverage has always been horrendous, than you add all the "letters to the editor" they published last year to the equation and that was the final straw for me. The one they published last year about the lady complaing about Cam having a baby out of wedlock was boredline racist, sexist, etc. They sold their souls for a few clicks of a website.

Things that happen when the majority of your sports department are Chapel Hill journalism graduates.

You are correct. Ron and the other coaches did not seem too thrilled that KK was a no show. More than anything I think he doesn't like being left in the dark about, nor should he.

I agree 100%.....not being there for non mandatory OTA's is one thing.  Not showing up for mandatory mini camp would be an entirely different animal.
