Right on. When you successfully complete Airborne school, someone that is already Airborne qualified pins your wings on your chest. For a few, it's a tradition to get your blood wings.              (another kind haha) You pin them on with out the backings and do a good hard hammer fist to the wings so they puncture your skin and draw some blood From your chest. The military frowns upon it if seen but you just find a quiet place. Old school like these guys, the original bad ass's.
