He didn't make it for the same reason Luke didn't and the same reason Smitty never will unless they change the procedure again. This new rule of needing to get 40 of 50 votes in the final round of voting is just sooooooooooooo dumb At that point it's already down to people who should be in the HOF and all it takes is a handful of split votes to keep more than worthy players out of the HOF in any given year. So unless there is collusion to among the voters to make sure only 9 or less people are not voting for certain players, we're going to keep seeing this happen every year, and we'll see more than worthy players never end up getting in at all. All it takes is for 20 of the 50 voters to split their vote and it keeps both players out that year. And when that final vote is by voting for 5 guys out of 7, it's going to happen every year unless they start colluding to make sure certain guys get in when they should. -
