If he were Jackie Robinson or one of the firsts to play the position then what you say might be true, but we have had black quarterbacks for the last 30 years.  What he brings to the table is that he is big and can run as well as pocket pass not that he is black and can do all those things.  People who want to see race will continue to do so.  People who are prejudiced will also see what they want.  Some people may discriminate against him because he is black just like some may revere him and idolize him for the same reason.  I see him as my quarterback and dont care what he wears, says or looks like.  As long as he moves the offense and scores points, he will be my guy no matter what.

You don't get what i am saying...him being blk is not my stance him being everything plus blk is my stance...i am saying race is included and lumped in with all the other factors...Look at big ben he gets calls may not have when he first started but he does now..he is big and strong ...hell anyone will take off running and try to get away if they see the pressure and think they can escape..so escapability is hog wash..the only thing that separates him from ben is his color and personality which is stereotyped with blk race.

Like I have said before. People see and believe what they want to see and believe. It doesn't make it so.

Take some who compare Cam to russell wilson..Even tho both are considered blk. If you did not know their skin color and just gave a description of the two and asked which one was blk..Cam would be the vote hands down...Because his character is identified as being blk...most blks would consider russell an uncle tom..not really blk..it is the same notion that was set with slaves..We are race of many different shades (color, personalities)and some whites just can't handle variety so they welcome the russell wilson types and try to get rid of the Cams..not knowing that he is the best to have in any condition because he has seen and been thru it all.

    • He has attempted 8 shootout goals in his NHL career and made 1. He is among our worst SO guys on the entire roster in terms of career stats.
    • Against Miami, the Panthers were behind by 17 in the 2nd quarter facing a 4th - 5. Young completed a 21 yard pass and they went on to score 7 on that drive. Then in the 4th, down by 4, they faced a 4th - 5 and again, he completed a 17 yard pass and they went onto score a TD for the win. He also accounted for 2 of the 3 TD's.  As I said, he got them in that mess and no doubt, Rico gets credit as well, but missing on either of those 4th down conversions hands the ball over and results in 1 or 2 less TD's giving them a loss. As you said though, that's just a small quibble. The real question is how does the FO see it?  I am guessing they see it as something to build on. I think most peope here see it as a total loss and fully expect the FO to see it that way as well. Time will tell.
    • Kochetkov is just too streaky. TBD if Freddie is doing that too. Freddie is the more reliable goalie over his career. The Bussi kid looks like he could be a solid #2 eventually.  Just need to figure out the #1 guy. Same as almost every year. It's not talent, it's consistency and being able to step up in the playoffs.
