i meant he's old school, expects a lot from his players, and doesn't take siht from them. he also says what he is thinking, and doesn't hide in circles of words.

Hah, yeah I like Singeltary a lot too. Agree with everything you just said. Buuut....just couldn't help but make a reference to that incident.

Fox of late seems very lazy. I heard of no extra preparation during the bye week leading up to the playoff game. He shortened every off season workout, and his interviews make him seem like he does very little analysis/critiquing of his and other teams. Blast me if you want, but I'm callin' it like I see it, and I don't see much right now.

John Fox is not going to let you into his inner circle or his meeting rooms or his locker room or even his damn kitchen. In fact, he's not going to ever tell you much either. You're not supposed to see much. Neither are the opponents. IMO that alone makes him smarter than the average fan.

So from that you're jumping to the conclusion that he is lazy?

NO! my opinion is based for the most part on the other thing that I said. did you see that, or did you only focus on the one thing you didn't like? i know some coaches go the way fox does, and don't say much...but I have more faith in those coaches who are on the podium venting, explaining, etc. It shows they are every bit of themselves into the game IMO. Fox's attitude shows a 9 to 5 mentality to me.

I read your entire first post. Didn't miss a thing, not in my reply either. So you add to your post in your reply to me and then accuse me of missing what wasn't there to begin with? huh?? :nopity:

I've now read your 2nd post and my reply stands as I posted it.

so you just overlook that fact that all offseason workouts ended early? that was my main point. the way he acts with the press was secondary.

Jeez. I guess I gotta' spell it out.

You don't know why John Fox has done what he has. You don't know why he ended offseason workouts early. My point -------------------->> you don't know and you never will know because, as I said, "John Fox is not going to let you into his inner circle or his meeting rooms or his locker room or even his damn kitchen." Come on, you can read better than that. :cornut:

    • Not when said QB is Josh Allen, it would be like when Andy Reid retires in the next few years and KC making the hire without involving Mahomes in the discussion at all. When you have a QB like they, they 100% should be involved in the discussions to make sure there is alignment and the QB/HC will mesh well together.  I'm sure they didn't just let him make the decision as that would be dumb, but it would be even dumber to have not involved him in the process at all.
    • The press conference was ugly and would make any coach a little concerned about working for said owner. But HC jobs for the team with the best QB in the league in the middle of his prime don't come around too often.  I think every candidate would be able to look past the owner in this situation to get a chance at having Allen's prime years to chase a ring. I still think if they lose in the first round and thus fired McDermott a week earlier, Harbaugh very likely would have been their next HC, but this all happened after he was already lined up with the Giants.
    • Some QBs take several years to become a good starting QB. Sadly this league has no patience, like they did in the past. Aaron Rodgers, Mike Vick never really saw any playing time their rookie years. They sat back and watched a professional QB. Left out Jake Delhomme. Now every once in a while you get a guy in his rookie year that blows poo up like Cam but that is not common.
