This team covers everything with a fine tooth comb and microscope, there is no way the staff and media depts are that unaware of one another.

I honestly think that the guys running the social media accounts have absolutely no clue, nor have anything to do with, coaching or personnel decisions.

Social Media interns making $30K a year post about Cam's awesome clothes because they are, in fact, awesome.

The coach then punishing him for it just shows how out of touch Ron is at this point. Making up some stupid rule (whether it was his rule or Dave's rule) and benching Cam for a play is bullshit by the coach.

Bench him for the game, or don't bench him at all. But for one play to make a point and then shift the entire focus of the football world onto why he was benched and everything is ridiculous.

This was a Ron Rivera fugup.

Also, if you want to try to interpret things between the lines, he does say, "It's the position he's in," referring to Ron.  And I'll have to go back and re-listen to the whole thing, but I don't know if he ever says it is Ron's rules...  In the full presser, he explained that it was because he didn't have a tie with his outift on Saturday and that the rules are they are supposed to wear a tie.  Either way, it sounds like bullshit and he's just trying to keep his head down.

Our coach, apparently by way of our GM, benched the league MVP for NOTHING.

Maybe RR was trying to see how good our D was going to play agains SEA so he knows how aggressive to call plays, and even if he wants to play all our starters at a time when winning gets us nothing, but playing hard risks serious injuries.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to infer the social media staff was privy to internal personnel decisions and such.  Rivera is a horrible coach regardless of this decision tonight.  That being said, I do think if it was truly about his outfit, word would've been passed along to the social media staff to not promote the outfit in posts.  Just seems like a disconnect on several levels.

And FWIW, I'm not saying I think it was Gettleman or Rivera solely.  Initially, I thought it was all Rivera, but then Voth tweeted what he did.  I also take into consideration what Scot said about active/inactives/gameday roster decisions are completely up to Rivera, but at this point, with all that's happened, I don't trust anything that is coming out of our organization.  I don't know who or what to believe as to how and why this happened and who was at fault.  This season is just a nightmare and we desperately need changes.  Again, regardless of who was ultimately responsible for the decision, it should have never happened.

Reference to "the position he's in" sounds like he's saying "I respect his decision because he's the head coach".

Everything I'm reading right now, other than Voth's earlier speculation, says Rivera made the decision.  Unless we hear otherwise, I'm inclined to believe it.

No argument.  It shouldn't have happened regardless of where it comes from.

Lord, this season...
