Fill in the blanks: Your Dream Starting 22

I think I would be happy with several scenarios if they played out. I think it would depend on what fell into our lap on draft day on how my roster would shake out, but I wouldn't mind seeing something like this:

Cut: Paul Soliai - DT (Saves $2.5M), Ed Dickson - TE (Saves $2.05M), Mike Tolbert - FB (Saves $1.725M)

Re-sign: KK Short - DT, Mario Addison - DE, Leonard Johnson - CB

Possible re-sign, but keeping on the back burner until after the draft/FA plays out: Mike Remmers - OT (Depth purposes, not to start), Charles Johnson - DE, Ted Ginn - WR, Kyle Love - DT, Chris Scott - OL

FA Targets: Jerome Felton - FB, Kyle Juszczyk - FB, Jack Doyle - TE, DeSean Jackson - WR, Kendall Wright - WR, Marquise Goodwin - WR, Kenny Stills - WR, Matt Kalil - OT, Riley Reiff - OT, Menelik Watson, OT, Jason Pierre-Paul - DE, Jabaal Sheard - DE, Andre Branch - DE, William Gholston - DE, Captain Munnerlyn - CB, Stephon Gilmore - CB, Morris Claiborne - CB, Eric Berry - S, Tony Jefferson - S, D.J. Swearinger - S, John Cyprien - S, Matt Elam - S

Draft Targets: Round 1 (Pick 1.8) - Jamal Adams - S, Malik Hooker - S, Soloman Thomas - DE, Derek Barnett - DE, Dalvin Cook - RB, Leonard Fournette - RB, Teez Tabor - CB Round 2 (Pick 2.8 - 40): Taco Charlton - DE, Garett Bolles - OT, JuJu Smith-Schuster - WR, Carl Lawson - DE, DeMarcus Walker - DE, Budda Baker - FS, Marcus Williams, FS, ArDarius Stewart - WR, David Njoku - TE, Roderick Johnson - OT Round 3 (3.8 - 72 and additional pick): Desmond King - FS, Adam Bisnowaty - OT, Pat Elflien - C/G, Jordan Leggett - TE, Bucky Hodges - TE, Dion Dawkins - OT, Chidobe Awuzle - CB, Justin Evans - SS, Tanoh Kpassagnon - DE, Eddie Jackson - SS, Jake Butt - TE, Josh Harvey-Clemons, D'Onta Foreman - RB, Marlon Mack - RB

With all of that said, I think you can form solid starting units on both sides of the ball while not breaking the bank too much. Depending on how things fall, I would be happy with any of these players starting

Offense:

LT - Oher/Kalil

LG - Norwell

C- Kalil

RG - Turner

RT - Reiff/Kalil/Watson/Bolles/Johnson

QB - Cam

FB - Felton/Juszcyk

RB - Stewart/Fournette/Cook

WR1 - KB

WR2 - Jackson/Wright/Funchess

Draft:

1st: Adams

2nd: Foreman

3rd: Leggett

Offense:

LT -  Oher, Kalil (FA) let them fight it out in camp

FB - Lee Ward, or other top lead blocker FB (like Hoover or headgecock like Gettleman had in NY)

RB - Stewart (restructured Contract), Foreman, Fozzy

WR2 - Desean Jackson, Brown

TE - Olsen, Leggett

Defense:

RE -Ealy, Da'Sahwn Hand

LB - Shaq

SS - Jamal Adams

FS - Coleman, Boston

CB1 - Bradberry, Awuzie

CB2 - Amukamara, Worley

Nickle - Captain Munnerlyn

Secondary goes from a weak link to one of the stronger ones in the league.  Bring back CJ and Addison with Ealy who helped pave the way secretly to one of the best pass rushes in the leagje this year.  Along with 2 young guys with potantial, gives those guys a year to groom.

Still the same trio of KB, Funch, and Philly who are Growing with Cam.  In addition to a vet deep threat who is a friend of Cams.

Using the running attack to help relieve pressure off Cam.  Stewart, Foreman, and Fozzy help Pound the road like earth wind and fire did for Eli and NY.  Better blocking help replacing Dickson with Leggett.  Replacing Tolbert to a no name, nonflashy, nasty road grader opening up the way for the RBs

Peanut added as DB coach

Please!!!!!

I have listed the obvious starters on O and D.  Fill in the blanks with your realistic dream scenario, including draft, our FAs and FAs not on our roster, to make up our starting 22.

Offense:

LT - Oher - Draft Pick

LG - Norwell - Draft Pick

C- Kalil

RG - Turner

RT -Reiff - Williams

QB - Cam

FB -  Draft Pick

RB -Stewart - Draft Pick

WR1 - KB

WR2 - Funchess

WR3 - Ginn - Draft Pick

TE - Olsen

TE- Draft Pick

Defense:

RE - Addison - Draft Pick

DT - Star - Draft pick

DT - Short

LE - JPP - Ealy

LB - Luke

LB - TD

LB - Shaq

SS - Coleman

FS - Eric Berry

CB1 - Bradberry

CB2 - Worley

Nickle - Johnson - Draft Pick

Contracts that I added:

Addison - 4/26m

JPP       - 4/48m

Short     - 5/80m

Reiff      - 4/40m

Berry     - 5/70m

Also planned for  these future contracts:

Norwell   - 5/40m

Turner    - 5/50m

Star        - 5/50m

KB          - 5/70m

Ginn      -  2/8m

Not really looking to argue about the amounts, didn't really take time to look at comps.  In some cases I am using the numbers as placeholders.  For example i'm sure most would think 5/70 for KB is a crazy amount but if he has a really good year next year you never know.  If not you have space to add someone.  Also this accounts for freeing up about $5m by cutting players this year.  Some combination of Dickson, Tolbert, Soliai, or Gano.  Also cutting Stewart would add a chunk.

This would leave us enough cap to fill out the roster with rookies and cheaper free agents for the 2017 and 2018 seasons.  Also it accounts for practice squad and about $5 million cushion to start each season.

As you can see CJ and Ealy are not resigned but if we spend that much on JPP and Addison I don't see it happening.  Actually I would be shocked if we signed JPP, Addison, Star, and Short.  We would have an enormous amount of cap space allocated to the defensive line.  We would probably lead the league by good amount.  Dolphins and Jags were tops in 2016 at around 40m.  The 10th highest was $24m to put it in perspective.

http://overthecap.com/positional-spending/

As far as draft picks go I really didn't try to name certain players.  When you start trying to assign certain rounds to certain positions that is when you start to reach.  I think you look at ranges.

For example:

You can get one of the top FBs in round 6-7.

If you want to save some more cap by cutting Gano you can get one of the top kickers in a late round also.  War Eagle:)

I think we can get a really good TE in the second round, or first if we trade down.  Howard or Njoku if they fall or someone like Leggett.   Maybe a TE3 in a late round. TEs are used on ST a lot.  Doesn't hurt to have 3-4

The draft is heavy on CBs so you might be a find a good one in the middle rounds, especially a nickel corner.

A smaller slot receiver/ PR/ KR would be nice to add, Ginn is getting older. Curtis Samuel in the second would be nice or Taywan Taylor in the third.

If we don't add Barry the 8th pick is looking good for adding a safety.

If we don't add JPP the first few rounds look really good for adding a DE.

Once you reach rounds 5-7 your chances of getting a quality stater are a lot lower then most think, maybe we look for a decent backup that will have a cheap contract for the next 4 years.  A OG or DT, especially if you let Soliai go.

Would like to find a OT in the draft, at least one that could be developed. By signing Reiff we might not be so desperate to draft one early.  Also Oher's health will be a huge factor in how we approach free agency and the draft.

If we draft a RB early we might save money by cutting or restructuring Stewart.  If we don't we could still draft one later.

Our 2nd and 3rd gets us back into the mid 20s. Our 2nd and comp 3ed gets us to the end of the first (with the move-down happy pats)

I could definately see either of these happening if a player high on our board starts to slip.

Say we go fournette in the first as BPA and Barnett or Allen or someone slips past the teens...

Or, at the end of the first, like lando collins a while back, there is someone who rode out that greenroom.

I could certianly see teams getting enamored with needs or the combine...

Happens every year

Or moving down to say 12th gives us an early 3rd.  Maybe a late second if some team is desperate for a QB.  12th is Cleveland's pick and maybe they want to move in front of the Bills.

Or moving down to say 16 gives us a mid 2nd.

Either way 5 picks in the top 3 rounds would be nice.

Just depends on what happens at the top of the draft.  Maybe Adams, Fournette, and Hooker (or whoever the teams thinks) are all gone and we feel like the next group of players are ranked pretty close.

Sometimes when things don't work out that ends up being for the better down the road.  For example Fournette could be off of the board and we trade back and pick up Cook and use that extra second for someone like Leggett.

Personally I feel like we trade up and too much.  Its fine when it works but history seems to show that every pick is a gamble.  Look at our trade ups we have done so far in the past few years.

Die meisten Schüler wissen nicht, wo sie anfangen sollen, wenn es um diese Innovation geht. Das ist leider ein Misserfolg. Wie wichtig ist das? Genau das ist es, was nicht zu Ihrer Mission gehört. • Am I reading this right? We've had awful QB play for over half a decade...and we'd pass on Dak because he has no "clutch gene" or can't get it done in the playoffs--something we haven't sniffed and have no reason to believe we will for years to come?!? Sorry, but this sounds like a starving man turning down a box of crackers because they're Great Value instead of Ritz. If a Great Value QB is available when you have none, there is no deliberation needed.
