next offseason: Peppers for Quinn/Anderson?

I still wouldnt be suprised to see us trade Peppers this year before the deadline. Denver has a few 1st rounders and still needs a pass rusher. If we could get Elvis Dummervil and a 1st rounder for Peppers I could live with that.

what in the name of god is this

Yep. That's Peppers running down that guys leg.

 IOU!!

Back to the OP. Have you watched this team in the last few years? Even with a new Coach we will need a QB that knows how to play. Not one that has to be developed. Now who is that? IDK Is he already playing in the NFL? IDK so....glad I could help......okay......bye.

1) If peppers keeps playing shitty then he'll sign long-term with Carolina because nobody else will pay him. Then we could trade him I guess but I doubt they would because he's from Carolina and Would be a bad PR move...(which is debatable) 2) If somebody comes in and installs the 3-4 Scheme then Peppers would be Very valuable to this organization IMO He is Very misused in our current scheme. 3) You can't trade him because if he didn't sign a long term contract Carolina would have to Franchise him for 20+ million and NOBODY WILL TAKE THAT ON! 4) The next draft is Supposed be Very good for QB'S even in the 2nd round, and Anderson and Quinn suck. I would trade for maybe Troy Smith or someone that just wouldn't lose the game. :banghead:

This what I would do....

First thing, I dont believe we will get any compensation for Julius Peppers. His lack of effort, even with a huge contract, is killing us, and he obviously does not want to be in Carolina.

1.Sign Vince Wilfork-This would give us two run stuffing defensive tackles in the middle, and would allow us to have some good degree of depth w/ Lewis, Corey Irvin, Nick Hayden, and Louis Leonard. This will allow free up Beason and Davis, and allow them to make plays all over the field.

2. Next year's draft will have plenty of opportunities to pick a quality quarterback since there is so much talent. Even though we lost our first round pick, I believe that if we are picking low enough in the second, we could trade back late in the first. Colt McCoy, The Golden Calf of Bristol, Sam Bradford, Jevan Snead, Zac Robinson, and Tony Pike are all first round material and even second round material, and I guarantee that ones of those guys fall throughout the draft. There are not that many teams that really need quarterbacks, other than the Rams, 49er's, and the Browns to think about it

This is what my thought it....We return to our identity of running the ball, and stopping the run. For all the rookie quarterbacks that have come out i.e Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, and Mark Sanchez, the common denominator is that their teams are solid at running the ball and have a great defense. I believe that we can turn it around quickly as long as we can get a solid quarterback in the draft.

This is my overall thought...

Renegades,

Wilfork was franchised this year...Many people dont know that last year in the draft, the Pats selected Ron Brace(space eating DT out of Boston College) to add depth. Belicheck has no problems plugging players in his defensive scheme, whether they deserve a new contract or not. He had no problem getting rid of Seymour.

Seymor is 30 years old, Injury issues, & in the final year of his contract. The pats got a 1st for a guy that probially won't be on his squad next year anyway.....B.B felt bad for giving the raiders a 5th round draft pick for Burgess...Thats why R.S is gone, I don't think the pats had any intention of geting Peppers....Smoke Screen

    • if  ANYONE actually goes & looks at the FACTS on rookie Qb's after 2 full seasons as a starter in the NFL & they are still well below average do they rarely ever actually become top tier Qb's & instead most likely either do not recieve a second contract & or become life long backups...just saying
    • So he became GM and decided not to address the weakness in the QB room following one of the worst rookie QB performances in NFL history?  There were options last season other than signing Dalton to a 2 year deal. Brissett and Jones by a wide margin, both of whom outplayed Bryce, Wilson, Winston, hell even Rivers off the couch was more exciting at the QB position. The time to address the failure in the QB room was last year but instead people on the Huddle cheered when we brought Dalton back then cheered when we were able to get anything for him after they finally realized he was washed up like a few of had been saying all along and got poo'd for even mentioning.  This year, the options were more limited obviously, especially since we lost Icky. It changed the dynamic of our draft. I think we were stuck this year keeping Bryce, but i still think giving him a 5th year option for what has amounted to replacement worthy performance was the wrong move. Why guarantee 25m if you're planning to replace him? You think he's going to want to be a bridge QB? Hell no. He's going to want out and we'll end up cutting him if he has another lackluster season because no one is trading for him with that price tag.  Were there better options as far as production available. A couple. Were there guys available with more physical tools than Bryce, Pickett or Grier, you damn well better believe there were. I've been saying all along, you always keep looking for your 1b. Bryce has yet to prove he can be a starter. Keep looking for someone who may. Put competition in camp. Let the best QB lead the team. Stop settling for less than mediocre.
