Why do you think we could have had Whitworth on a 1 year deal.  He signed a 3 year 30 mil deal.  His cap hit this year is 9.2m  (almost 6 mil more than Kalil).  His cap hit next year will be 12.2 mil (again almost 6 mil more than Kalil).  Kalil is 7 years younger and was willing to come here on basically what appears to be a 'prove it' deal to play with his big brother.  Meanwhile we draft Moton to develop as a potential replacement in 2 years.

Maybe we should let him play more than 2 games before we decide whether this was a good move or not.

There's no use discussing it anymore. Different people value play differently, and have differences of opinion on how funds should be allocated.

That's why it was of paramount importance to jump on the tackle problem forthwith and make something happen. We had known about Oher since the second week of the season. No excuses!

I'm not.  Again, I wasn't thrilled with the pickup.

That said, the contract isn't as bad as everyone in the media, and on this forum make it out to be.

What the hell does Barry Church and Jackson have to do with finding a suitable left tackle?

Like I told you before, opportunity costs. It's not that hard to figure out.

There certainly were more suitable left tackles, and if there weren't, you have to put the money elsewhere to try and compensate for that.

The contract is bad, and I am not the only one that thinks so. His career production was not commensurate with what he will actually be getting paid. It's as simple as that! 

You don't think so, but so what? Others do. And now you wan to sit back and beat a dead horse. Give it up! Sometimes agreeing to disagree is the wisest option.
