I hate the Pats enough that for that game (and the Aints and Falcons games) I don't care who wins. Either way a team I hate gets a win and a team I hate loses. Well I guess it's different if one of the teams has a bad record or if one of our division rivals directly affects us (ideally it shouldn't if we just take care of our own business, but of course it happens and that's an exception) but this early in the season, I don't really care.

I like the fact that we’ve gotten by Buffalo and NE 2-0. NO lost to NE and Atlanta lost to Buffalo. Hopefully they continue to ruin the other teams records.

The loss to the Aints hurts more than a Bills loss would have though. We need divisional wins.

Perhaps this thought would help clarify. The Bucs are losing to the Giants as of this post. If they lose today and the Pats beat them Thursday the Bucs will be buried at the bottom of the NFC South at 1-3.

That makes no sense. Atlanta is 3-1 like us. How could you possibly be OK with the Pats losing to them?

Also, FYI, the Pats already beat the Saints, otherwise the Saints would be 3-1 too.

I always root for our division opponents to lose, especially to an AFC team which cannot hurt us. If we were going for a wild card or a bye and the Saints were 6-9, then I would root for them to beat another NFC team that would help us get to the playoffs.

I hate Pats and division rivals equally. I want them all to lose every game they play. But when they play each other, barring an unlikely tie, somebody's gotta win and I tend to not really care which it is. I did say that it does depend on whether the game directly affects us in which case I'd pull for Pats, or if one team already has a terrible record where a win wouldn't help them but hurts the other team (in which case I root for the shittier team). Ultimately though the Panthers just need to take care of business. I don't want to have to rely on our division rivals losing for our situation to be better.

The Saints destroyed us. The Bills loss would have made us 2-2. That said, the past is already in the record book, we are talking about the future and I am rooting for every AFC East team against our division opponents.

I know we got destroyed by the Aints, you were bringing up how you were glad we got by the Bills and I was just responding by saying if we had to lose one of our first 4 games I'd rather it be against the Bills than Aints, but yes ultimately it is what it is.

    • Yup. Hopefully  Brandon adds some muscle this off-season but he'll probably be resting his shoulder for a while so I doubt it. Miles should probably be replaced but I don't think we find a better 4th option to be honest. So is it better to add depth along side williams and Coby or try to upgrade the 4/5 . I think adding depth will probably be more beneficial than trying to upgrade starters and bank on Brandon and Kons continuing development. I really don't think they are going to make the playoffs unfortunately. I think the big hole they put themselves in has exhausted them. They've been amazing since January 1 but I think it's come at a cost and their legs are gone.
    • The issue is the predictability of it all in a Bryce Young led offense. In 4th down attempts the Jets were at 41 and we were at 40. And we were 4th in conversation %. We were 25th in the league in 3rd down conversion because we faced so many 3rd and longs in part due to playcalling on 1st and 2nd down but more largely due to the limitations that cannot be overcome.  And people want us to spend another 1st rounder on WR as if it is going to magically give Bryce physical talent he will never possess. It's a shame we cut off our own nose just to put ourselves in this frustrating predicament.
