Todd McShay thinks Orlando Brown will fall to us in his first Mock.

The Browns would be rise to take Rosen. Darnold is another USC QB just waiting to ride the pine in the NFL. Or they could possibly trade back to 5 or 6 and get Mayfield as well as another first or second round draft pick. They need swag and someone who has proven they can lead. They don't need just another guy, but they need a leader; someone who will take ownership of the offense, and eventually the team, and get guys to rally behind them. A leader will result in wins; just another guy will result in more of the same. More of the constant blaming, firing, hiring, blaming, firing, hiring cycle that Browns fans have become accustomed to.

Get a QB that's going to come in and take charge. That isn't Darnold or Rose. Mayfield is a blue collar guy who plays with a chip on his shoulder, the type of guy who gives everyone else a chip, and can be useful in Jackson's QB room. But then again, this is the Browns we are talking about. They will take a guy who was on a team that under performed relative to the talent level of the team, and say that it wasn't entirely his fault that they weren't winners. A leader makes it their job to lead the team to wins.

A perfect example of this is Russell Wilson. He leads NC State to victories while a QB there, goes to Wisconsin and wins, comes into the NFL and wins. Despite the Seahawks having one of the cheapest offensive lines in the league and playing inconsistent on defense, they still win. Why? Because Russell Wilson is a leader and leaders win. Rosen and Darnold are not the brand of individuals to lead teams to wins just because it's who they are. Guys like Brady and Wilson continue to win, in spite of the circumstances surrounding them; because that's what leaders do.

I highly recommend that book to anyone and everyone.

If the Browns trade back after all they’ve been through despite having 2 top 10 picks they would, and should, be contracted.

They must take their guy, whoever it is, even if it’s likely the wrong guy.

The mindset of they "have" to take "their guy" is what got them where they are in the first place. If they can get Mayfield at 6, why take Darnold or Rosen just because? The guys aren't leaders and their teams have underperformed relative to where they should've been based on talent alone.

Mayfield IS Oklahoma. Without him, they may be 9-3 or 8-4. One thing that translates well into the NFL is the leadership factor, and Mayfield has the ability to rally the guys behind him. Drop down if you can, take Mayfield, utilize your other two first round picks to solidify your offensive line and get a defensive field general, or another quality defensive lineman/OLB.

Again, my point is that you can't simply take a guy because they are the consensus number one or two guys. You have to do what is right for your team. The Browns currently lack leadership on the offensive side of the ball and that lack of leadership means that there is no accountability. They need that leader to hold everyone accountable, including themselves, and allow that person to also be able to take over games. Desean Watson provided that for the Texans, Wilson gives that to the Seahawks, Cam is able to rally his guys at times, Brady's record speaks for itself. It's about leadership and that starts with the QB.

Then they should take Mayfield at 1.  The risk that the Jets or someone would trade in front of them to get Mayfield would be real and should mean contraction for even considering not getting the QB they want at 1.

Either way, Mayfield is their guy. I am saying trade down if you are 95% sure you will still get him. If not, just take him where you are. Even if Jackson doesn't work out, they at least have a QB at that point. He has the "It" factor which really is just a euphemism for leadership qualities that get guys to rally around them. If you haven't, I recommend reading that book I mentioned.
